At least you're not announcing that our favorite player is entering the portal.

I did not know where to post this, so I will post it here.
Oregon State did not go to Omaha from June 24, 2007, to June 15, 2013, an absence of 2,184 days.
It has been 2,177 days since the dogpile on June 28, 2018.
On June 20, 2024, we will officially be experiencing the longest Omaha drought, since the 53 year and five day drought between the 1952 and 2005 College World Series teams.

Ya gotta admit, though, replacing Pat Casey has gotta play a huge role in that little factoid. It's actually damn impressive that we've come as close as we have twice now, despite that little hiccup. When Pat retired, I told myself at the time there's a very good chance we may not see Omaha again. Credit to Mitch that he has us knocking on the door, and I have no doubt we're gonna break through sooner than later....

Yeah and how many days/years did it take pat to get to Omaha for the first time? I agree Mitch is doing a stand up job. We are 6 season removed from pat Casey's last team that means all these kids are Mitch's recruits so I think he's doing very well.

If folks only "judge" on Omaha appearances they aren't very astute in their assessment of how difficult that feat is. If they judge on CWS titles you can simply ignore them.
There are so many extremely gifted coaches, at all levels. Many, many not only turn out great players, but outstanding young men/citizens. We all want "our" teams win, but most here have stated in one fashion or another, they also want a program with high integrity.
I don't the inside scoop of 99.9% of programs, but do know once roster limits, illegal payments investigated the "most successful" CWS coach/team hasn't sniffed that run of success. Some fans think a program's success somehow reflects on their excellence and ignore all the warts.
At OSU we've gotten to have our "cake" and eat it too. With pride and the satisfaction of no "warts" that need be ignored. As I've stated previously, MC and staff are young "pups" in the college coaching game. Playing D1 ball, and in a different era, doesn't make one a coach. Let alone a successful one.
MC and crew have done a fine job up to now. But, they now enter a entirely different landscape that they or any other D1 staff has en encountered. All we can do is sit back and see where this takes us and how they manage to navigate it. There is no "map", so there might more than one successful route in the end.
Go Beavs
