Until a coaching staff pitched to their weakness and no adjustments were made. I find it hard to believe that the UK coaches are the only ones who figured out our weaknesses. Well Kentucky figured it out. The further in post season you go the harder it gets. The head coached talked about types of pitches and location against the Beavers when he had the in game interview.

This weekend was the 2014 Corvallis regional all over again. Our unstoppable hitters all disappeared.

Others did, UK pitching staff was better at executing. Zona's Sunday guy, Furd had bits & pieces, same with Cal and SC. But, I was impressed with every guy UK threw. They struggled some but never gave in, stuck to the plan. When you K OSU 25 times in 2 games, 11 of them the top 3 in the order that get 1 hit... pretty efficient job!

Just never did look like an Omaha team all season. A regional team, yes. But it just didn't have the look and feel. And when you finish second in a bad conference, it'll show in the post season. And yet, we certainly had the potential. It just never came together for us. Too many hitting slumps.

KY should be proud. They play a pretty damn good brand of baseball and execute very well offensively and defensively. Beavs need to learn from this. The 1 biggest thing about being a good baseball team is the million little things. The final game of the season came down to Nelson Keljo forgetting to cover home. Kentucky needed a heck of a play at short and another phenomenal play at third to save it, too. If the shortstop does not make that leaping catch, tie ballgame. If the third baseman does not make that play, it's a tie ballgame, and Oregon State is still batting. Kentucky made the plays today down the stretch, and Oregon State did not. If its and butts were candy and nuts.... Be interesting to see if dugout was going nuts to get Keljo to cover home or were they just sitting on their asses.

The SEC is in a league all to themselves in basically every sport. The facilities, the crowds, the athletic budgets, the NIL budgets. Every school cares about their sports. A while ago I thought next time around they'll cut Vanderbilt and maybe south carolina loose. But rethinking I don't think that will happen. What's strange is many of the states have the worst economies yet they keep supporting their schools.

And, if two extremely close pitches that fooled our 2 & 3 hitters that ended up as walks, and a dropped pop up OSU doesn't score. Hmmmmm... breaks go both ways for each team. When you lose to a very good team, classy, well coached it sucks... but not as much when you're simply out played. It's not like OSU couldn't hit... their game plan was beautiful, and their pitchers executed. Congrats to UK on your 1st CWS trip. But those were not ultimately difference-makers, which was my point. If you want to go back to the fourth, which you seem to want, Oregon State was robbed of a run by the umpire calling ball four strike three against Guerra with the bases juiced. And then Oregon State lost all momentum after ball four was called strike two against Baz. The zone was choppy early. It seemed to get better after the fifth, but there were a lot of very questionable calls in the first five innings. Oh, since you want to take the high road. An All-ACC/SEC "College World Series" is a freaking joke. I know some self-hating Beaver fans are getting all lathered up for it, but it is not a World Series, if only two conferences are represented. Go f#*k yourselves Kentucky! You and the other SEC teams are a blight upon college athletics. Go Virginia!

I appreciate your fandom, but blaming a ball/strike call when we had 3 hits in two games is a stretch even for you. We got beat, that is all.

This a NCAA problem. NIL budgets are bigger and better in the SEC and ACC. Can’t compete!!! Until we find donors this is gonna be the results year in and year out.

"An All-ACC/SEC "College World Series" is a freaking joke." Guess the teams in those conferences aren't colleges? That happen to win at the right time are funny? It doesn't count if they are from certain conferences? Maybe this means we'll see less of those meaningless, historical numbers??

Maybe you should consider getting your news from a more reputable source?

Maybe we would have been able to hit the ball with a consistent zone? Perhaps? What do I know? I am just a doctor..........

Maybe you should consider getting your news from a more reputable source? Is your take that State "economy" is the same as personal income? GDP/capita is far better... 2023 numbers: 50th Mississippi 49th W Virginia 48th Arkansas 47th Alabama 46th S Carolina 44th Kentucky 41st Oklahoma 36th Louisiana 35th Missouri 34th Florida 32nd N Carolina 29th Georgia 28th Tennessee 17th Virginia 14th Texas Any missing?

I just wonder why Mitch didn't pinch hit for Weber in the 6th or at least sub in Smith with a 2-2 game in the 7th.

Maybe you should consider getting your news from a more reputable source? And of those, only Florida has personal income higher than Oregon, although Texas comes close.
