Unlike some of the Beaver fans on this board tonight, I have the decency and the sportsmanship to acknowledge when a better team beats us. Ladies and gentlemen, Kentucky is ranked number two in the country for a reason. They're freaking good. And when I walked out of their ballpark tonight, I had the class to tell their fans just what I've typed here in these sentences. I said "You guys are a juggernaut, wow. And you have an excellent team".
They only lost four games all year in their house. If we wanted to pave the way to Omaha, we needed to be a top 8 seed. Those of you who know baseball, know that as a fact. You go on the road, you have an almost impossible task ahead of you.
I'm not ready to write this season off yet. The fat lady hasn't sung. There's still tomorrow. Let's see what happens on Sunday.
Oh,and one more thing. Be proud of our team. Win or lose. We had a great season. And quit your bitching. It's really very unsportsmanlike , and beneath you.

Thanks for the report. Glad you & Jeff made it there safely. Maybe our delayed flight that had to divert to Chicago was a bad Omen to start with? We didn't get to Lexington until close to noon today, and we were in Portland early yesterday morning.

Thanks for the report. Glad you & Jeff made it there safely. Nice looking stadium, but quite a hike from the parking lot we used, which was down by their football field. They built this thing a few years ago up on top of a hill, and put almost no parking in near it. They couldn't have been much more than a hundred Beavers in our section. A bit surprised at the low turn out.

The better team won today. They kept the pressure turned up high and we cracked. Yet when we applied pressure to them (bases loaded, one out), the pitcher struck out our #2 and #3 batters to get out of the inning.
I won't say that we were embarrassed, but we were certainly schooled.
Let's see if they have any Beaver pride left tomorrow.

We didn't show up. We've seen this movie before, on the road. Credit to the cats. They definitely looked like the team who wanted it more.

Stadium report for those who’ve asked.
Really nice new park. No 200 level so all the seating is below a really nice wide open concourse with good sight lines down to the field. They have berms/decks in both corners that fans bring their own chairs to setup. I wandered down there and it seemed like a fun environment. Cats fans understood the assignment and the park was packed so there were significant lines for concessions and restrooms but the lines seemed to move pretty quickly.
Hate to say it but it fees a bit softball-ish with specific dances moves done by the team and fans for nearly every hitter walk-up. That being said, when all of them got into it it was a sight.
Was a real playoff atmosphere last night. Before the Cats blew it open everyone was standing and it was loud for the couple big bases loaded ABs both ways. Cats played their best and Beavs just didn’t. Sometimes that happens and it’s up to them to come back tonight and show what they’re made of.
UK fans were great. We were welcomed to Kentucky several times and after the game they were rightfully excited but not rude at all toward any of us.

This is what happens when you have never been to a CWS - a little more humility. A few of the OSU fans on this board should learn from them. Just be grateful we have been to several - and hope to be there again this year. I think expectations for the average UK baseball fan are a little more realistic.
