One of the most overlooked interesting stats I found between these 2 teams is walks. Most of the other stats can be skewed by the level of competition, but walks allowed and walks taken should mostly be true across the level of competition.
Beavs are 2nd in Base on Balls, Kentucky is 92nd. Beavs are 34th in walks per 9 innings, Kentucky is 91st. There are a lot of SEC teams that rank high in both of these categories, just not Kentucky. There isn't a single Kentucky pitcher in the top 150 players for least amount of walks. We have 1 in Kmatz who is 82nd.
Does this nullify Kentucky's huge advantage with small ball and fielding? Maybe. I would be curious how many errors Kentucky forces on defense due to its aggressiveness.

On the other side they are the rare contact pitching squad. Contact pitching leads to more walks if a pitcher is having a rough time locating (duh) or the batters are very disciplined.

Initially, lots of armchair analysts were touting their ability to get guys on base and create havoc, which they did. But it's all relative. Like you said we drew more walks and issued less. Our OBP is higher. We too have really good team speed. We may not play small ball as much, but we can, and we can create just as much, or more havoc on the base paths, as the cats.
