But, he has to know where Hainline is on that play and that Hainline had a much better angle to make the play. That looked like an "overplay" in co-ed softball where a dude sprints over in front of one of the female players to catch the ball. Looked bad I agree, but doesn't mean it was the wrong reaction and that's what it was, a reaction. . You do not want a hesitant defender. As soon as that ball left the bat it was instant react and attack. That's what you want. When you have guys jammed together on these shifts and you get a tweener ball, just like in doubles ping pong, either someone takes it without hesitation or you risk both players watching the ball pass between them. I would agree, except I would not call that a tweener ball. Hainline only had to take a step or two to get to that.

How I saw it, both players broke for the ball and Bazz, by a mouse whisker, crossed ahead of Hainline otherwise they would have had a full collision instead of a brushing like they had. Sure Hainline slammed the breaks, but I don't think he was clearly going to get to ball any sooner. I think what's hard for us to grasp sometimes is due to his speed he can make plays we are not accustomed to seeing and it can look ball hoggish at times, but we don't know what the coaches are telling him. It may be, any ball you can play, you play. There was a ball hit to center left earlier this season where he back peddled to middle center left to arrive at ball just in time to catch. Meanwhile the CF had already come up and was camped out ready to make the catch. I didn't like the look of that play. I don't know if there was any communication on that play by the CF or what Bazz's range is from the coaches so I was thankful the catch was made and tried to not over "judge" it.

This guy named John McEnroe had some negative emotional outbursts....How'd he do? But, in my experience such actions fare differently in team vs individual sports??

If Bazzana climbs up the ladder to AAA and MLB if he doesn't change his ways of taking balls better handled by others somebody will put him in his place. Pros also don't have shifts anymore so that stuff is harder now. Ofc he can still interfere with outfielders but he will get absolutely reemed for it.
