That Dec 28 SNOOP DOGG ARIZONA BOWL PRESENTED BY GIN & JUICE BY DRE AND SNOOP is about to be off the hizzle for shizzle It has a MWC-MAC matchup. Wyoming beat Toledo last season and Ohio beat Wyoming in 2022. Formerly the Barstool Sports Bowl, I believe. So we could play there.

As I understand it, the Pac-12 bowl contracts are through 2026 and will be honored, despite the fact that the conference does not really exist at the moment.
The Alamo Bowl is on a Saturday again. It has only been held on a Saturday twice, since the Pac-12 got the contract back in 2010. Once was Alamo Bowl XX, the one that Oregon State played in.
The Holiday Bowl is the only bowl game without a date so far.
The Las Vegas Bowl is being held between Christmas and NYE for the second time ever. The only time that it was held that week was in 2021, a 20-13 Wisconsin win over Arizona State.
The LA Bowl is being held on a day other than Saturday for the first time ever, a Wednesday.
Interesting times.

The two latest money grabs in college sports, conference realignment and NIL, are the biggest and baddest so far and may kill college sports, or at least make people care less and less. But to me the first step down this road to perdition was taken when bowl games started incorporating corporate names into their name.
No longer is it enough for Goodyear to sponsor a bowl game and be the chief advertiser during the contest, but now it has to be called the Goodyear Cotton Bowl. There used to be just the Orange Bowl. Now its named after a credit card.
I know there's more bowl games because of the corporate sponsorships. It's still grotesque.

The Wasabi Bowl - that's a spicy game. Sponsored by Wasabi Technologies, a cloud storage company. Named "Wasabi," because their cloud storage is "hot."

The Wasabi Bowl - that's a spicy game. I'm sure Rod Gilmore is going to be the color guy for that broadcast.

Soon the companies can hold contests for their employees to play in the Bowl games they sponsor, since all the promising student-Athletes employed by the schools to wear their uniforms during the regular season are going to opt out of the games anyway...... "The Goodyear Cotton Bowl featuring the top performing Goodyear Salespeople game" Well, if folks want to get technical, bowls actually began the NIL, pay for play crap. It was not much at first, but when bowls (the bigger the better) started giving out swag bags/baskets to each and every player and coach it was never questioned as being against being against NCAA rules. Over the decades the swag became more and more valuable items... some bowls not so much. But, basically it was a NIL based benefit. It made me sort of laugh when a big deal was made of OBJ handing out $$ (supposedly fake?) after the title game. Guess that perk was not allowed but the corporate swag was fine?! But, to your initial point... Bowls will probably just up the swag game to players, and with NIL seemingly having no limits/policing... what's to keep a bowl committee to give more to key players so they do not opt out? It became, is, and will be a sh&t show.

"The Goodyear Cotton Bowl featuring the top performing Goodyear Salespeople game" I worked for Goodyear as a sales/service/store manager in the early to mid-80's. They did that salesman award stuff back then (and yes it was 'men' back then as well) I did get to go for a ride on the blimp when it was in town for some event..It was Salem so maybe the State Fair. It was a cool experience

When all of that "bling" - Bowl bennies, NIL money, private tutors, etc. get's taxed - and the players are "employees", tax it all - tuition, books, room, board as a fringe benefit. Most of these young men/ women have no idea how good they have it, and what awaits them in the real world.
