It is the last 11-6 postseason win for Oregon State since 2018, when Oregon State beat North Carolina 11-6. Oregon State beat the SEC's own Mississippi State 12-2 and 5-2 in the next two games to clinch a spot in the Championship Series.
In the last 60 years, Oregon State has won 11-6 exactly six times:
Oregon State beat Oregon Tech 11-6 in Klamath Falls (wrong in the Media Guide) on the way down to an 11-game road trip California. After winning in Klamath Falls, Oregon State won three of the next four, dropping a game to Willamette in Chico. But the Beavs responded to win road games against Chico State and Pacific and a neutral-site game against BYU in Fresno.
Oregon State beat Portland State 11-6 in Goss in 1994. And then the Beavs swept Wazzu at Goss and swept Gonzaga in Spokane. Oregon State won the Pac-10 North Championship. Unfortunately, the Beavs got passed over in favor of the Huskies for the Pac-10 North's spot in the Tournament.
Oregon State beat BYU 11-6 in Goss in 2005. Oregon State then swept Cal and won two of the first three at Sunken Diamond.
The fourth time was the aforementioned
Oregon State beat Oregon 11-6 at Goss last year. The Beavs then won two-of-three against Utah, beat Portland in Hillsboro, and took two-of-three against UCLA at Jackie Robinson.
