We'll likely see a right hander in Chandler Welch or a south paw in Luc Fladda. Opponents hit .298 & .293 against these guys and I expect our line-up to do the same.
Welch looks like he has good sink on the ball, from a 15 minute YouTube video I viewed against Wichita St. (In their tournament final.)
I'm still leaning May, Tulane has good size & power but some of their bats looked slow.(Especially on high fastballs)
I think May can mow them down and set the tone for the weekend.

I’m good with starting May G1. Might as well start off with a bang.

Get 6-7 quality innings from May. Build a big lead. Let Lawson take it home. Kmatz and the entire BP at the ready for game 2.

If Lawson is coming in we will likely be up by at least 10 Since Lawson returned to action against Nevada after a month off, he has worked 15.1 innings and only given up 3 earned runs. That’s good for an era of 1.8. If we can build a 4+ run lead, I feel good about giving the all to Lawson.

Is the 10 run rule in effect in the tournament? No. Glad to hear it; thanks. Personally, I think the rule stinks. Not using it in the tournament seems like a tacit admission by the NCAA that the rule is flawed and, therefore, should be dropped for 'important' games like regionals. Either that, or they don't think regular season conference games are important.

Either that, or they don't think regular season conference games are important. I believe that the 10-Run Rule only applied on getaway days in Pac-12 games to ease travel issues. Oregon State had to play all nine against Arizona in the 16-1 win. The 15-1 win over UCLA ended after 6½ on Sunday. But the earlier 11-0 win over UCLA went 8½. Nonconference games depends on the contract. As there are fewer travel issues and because a different contract does not control, I do not believe that the 10-Run Rule applies.

Saw a bunch of Tulane kids in town last night. All I know is I'm glad we're not playing them in basketball. They'd outrebound our baseball team (and possibly our basketball team?) by a healthy margin. Some very tall dudes. Good thing we have chainsaws.
