Utah might be reconsidering their move to the Big-12. According to some insiders, they have an invitation to join Cal and Stanford in the ACC and it is being considered.
I doubt this would be a money move, I believe the Big-12 has a superior media package in place. Not sure what other issues might be at work here.
For now, heresay but the sources are credible.

Who cares? Unless that rumor ends with they are heading back to the Pac, idgaf. They’re still traitors.

The only reason I would care, is if in some way them joining the ACC harms our ability to either rebuild the PAC, or join a conference like the B12. Other than that? Right there with you. It seems to me, given contracts and severance clauses, setting fire to that much money is insane.

And how the hell does a school like Utah, already settled in their new home, get courted by the ACC while we sit alone at home?

So, I guess our main problem is trying to apply logic to something that has none. As always, follow the money - palms greased, and ox (oxen?) gored!

I have heard that the only reason that the ACC would be considering Utah is as a pair with another Western team, like say............Oregon State. Because no one wants Wazzu. And if the ACC pairs Utah with a different non-Big 12 school, the Big 12 will probably be looking for a Western replacement, like say.........Oregon State.

Unless of course you define "credible" to be limited to the one person who posted??! "speculation" = "credible"? www.heartlandcollegesports.com/2024/05/26/discussion-about-utah-possibly-moving-to-acc-despite-big-12-move-report/Or does one believe Utah's reply: sports.yahoo.com/utah-denies-report-potentially-leave-192242360.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall“We are proud to be entering into membership in the Big 12 Conference in the coming months & excited to join our new colleagues and member institutions. A report over the weekend that suggested otherwise is completely fabricated & irresponsible,” the statement from Utah Athletics read.

I have heard that the focus is not necessarily Oregon State, but that what Utah does or does not do may greatly impact Oregon State. The other thing that I have heard is that this not half-baked, and there are some numbers floating around out there. But whether the numbers all add up at the end of the day remain to be seen. Need Utah to do something, though, or none of this particularly matters.
