Last week was the weather, next game is the late start time. 7 home games a season, 7 out of 365 days, just show up and support your team.

Apparently those that don't want to show will always have an excuse. Like some of the prior comments on other posts - homefield advantage is when the opposing team travels nothing about the impact of the crowd or lack of crowd. Really? Some of you think that if 2 people show or 50,000 people show the effect on the opposing team is the same. If the home team is yelling when the opposing QB is trying to call the snap or make an audible at the line it does matter when the crowd makes noise. Go ahead and stay home I'm sure when you are yelling at the TV it will have an impact on the field.

I've been too every game this year including the two road games. Go preach to someone else about "showing up".

Go ahead and stay home I'm sure when you are yelling at the TV it will have an impact on the field. I feel like this is directed to me. If not, sorry in advance. But here's what I actually said: Original Post: The 20,000 that showed up made noise, but all the no shows scared off by wind and rain really hurt the home field advantage today. My post: Wouldn't have mattered. If your qb is 1/11 for 1 yard and 1 int it doesn't matter if you had 100,000 there. I guess it was more an opinion on the qb play than the effect of the crowd. But really, I don't think another 15,000 would have mattered since the passing game was non-existent. When things are not working to that degree it pretty much neutralizes the energy in the crowd anyway. For what it's worth, it sounded like good crowd noise on the tv broadcast, so good for the folks in attendance.

I won't knock the crowd Saturday...the weather reports advised people to stay home. Those of us that lived close enough to make a decision close to game time could tell it wasn't going to reach the level predicted.
That doesn't change the fact that we've only topped 40K once since the end of 2014, and we can thank Boise for that, though. People aren't coming, and it's not because of late starts or price of tickets, or the game day experience (which is fine, by the way), or any other reason people want to come up with. It's because we're a last place team. We had crappy attendance in the 80's and 90's, it was great from 2000- '14, and now it's bad again. People (by and large) don't live and die with their sports teams in the northwest the way they do in other parts of the country.

Repost from similar thread... There are lots on here who seem to be experts on everyone else's lives... why they should show to every game bar the start times, cost, length and type of travel required, kids/family events, predictions of horrific storm, etc. BUT, they simply don't want to toss in that this team has looked like a middle of the pack Big Sky team (ok maybe not even that considering Idaho St. gets pummeling last week worse than we could inflict). A big crowd for OSU has always been 43-45k... a tiny percentage of what "Beaver Nation" is, yet there is no outcry when we get a "tiny" sellout. Where the hell are the rest of the 500k or more? Our "good" crowds are inferior to many, if not most similarly successful P5 schools. So, when the product is far below what they want to spend $ for and the "reviews" are similarly poor how is that any different than what you spend other disposable income? Top that with attendance is down for live sporting events all over... TV has made it easy to be a "fan" from home and to me it their choice not anyone else's how a fan chooses to spend family income. How about you take care of you and yours and let other fans do the same. I'm no more a "huge fan" because I have the disposable income and time to go to most every game home and away than the guy/family who can't afford to attend or has to actually work game days and fits in a radio listen. Look I take grief from some on here saying I'm a GA "hater". Far from it. But, GA's words, actions, and achievements up to this point merit no plaudits nor inspire much enthusiasm of any light at the end of this tunnel. So if others with less to spend on entertainment feel the same then their $$ are indeed saying exactly that... "we'll wait and see". If there is significant movement towards resembling a legit Pac12 team on a consistent basis we'll get to the 39-43k crowds regularly, but unless OSU somehow cycles into a top 10 program for years running we're not selling out regularly... never have. PS- more than the home crowds, fans are 'voting' with their dollars even more on away trips. This year is by far with the least "I see orange" on the road.

Happy to finally be getting a late start during fall youth sports season.
Sadly, this was the ONE weekend where both my kids games were early enough that the Beaver game time didn't matter. Already had to miss BSU (gave tickets to a friend), made Utah by half-time, and skipped one kid's game.

Feel your pain, Kersting. I showed up at ISU right at kick, made it by the second quarter of Boise, and would've missed Utah entirely had OYSA not cancelled all soccer matches in anticipation of the storm. Pretty happy for a night game finally, which should ensure no more conflicts the rest of the fall.
