Limited schollies? Recruiting based on best available athlete? Maybe there's a need at other positions.....hahaha! CGA is thinking we have a need at every f'n position. I "thought" in every class, there should be a QB and some big uglies (OLs/DLs). So, where are the OLs? Yeah. The HI pipeline. I like to see more CA and HI recruits but that may be a Riley trait. It looks as though CGA's MO is Poly recruits from Utah (who go on Mormon Missions. we're not BYU and we have an IMMEDIATE NEED at almost all positions but I respect your process, CGA). While at OSU, Riley hit TX, AZ, and FLA like what CGA is doing. The one thing with CGA is his lack of hitting CA and HI HARD. I am hoping (again) that CGA's classes will be consistently in the 40s (top 50). Big problemo I'm seeing if he can't hit Cali hard and get the Polys from HI. He does have two four stars (wondering if they'll actually sign and qualify) but still. That's good. Again, yeah. I'm thinking there's a huge need for OLs and DTs. Huuuuuuuuuge.

and one of the two 4* players is a Cali guy. But, jeez. There so much talent right there in CA and HI. Right down the road type of regions. And they probably heard of OSU. CA should be a strength in recruiting IMO.
Or maybe he wants to be the Pat Casey of football recruiting. Really dig in the Pac Northwest and hit Utah hard. Hahaha! I dunno.
Just get a top fifty class. Less NRs and 2 stars. Bulk better be 3*s. and a few 4*s. I'm sure he can build it with that kind of class. But, stop with the mid-major classes. Losing a cycle here and there will lead to more 2-10 & 3-9 seasons.
Yeah, yeah. I'll wait. 3 years........5 years......7 years..... Just get there.

Go Beavs Well, as of last week, FWIW, Rivals had our class at #36. The bigger picture says that if we can get 5-6 true impact guys out of each class going forward, we will see a significant talent upgrade on the field. But it is going to take time. Judging from history of similar scenarios, I see 2-3 years for significant improvement(possible low tier bowl), and 3-5 years for any major fruits of improvement(upper tier bowl - in the thick of a pac12 championship). For me, GA(and the whole staff really) simply has too good of a resume for this deal to end up like a Avazzano or Pettibone deal. None of the coaches from our "dark ages" had any of the history GA has. This ship will be righted. Who knows, we might even have some staff shakeup along the way, but it will be righted.

I wouldn't expect any OL, unless it is a cannot miss guy who wants to come here. When Andersen took over, he made a comment about having to many OL guys. And has recently said there is a huge gap between scholarship offensive players vs scholarship defensive players. So, while I would like to see a DT or two added, I don't think you'll see any OL in this class. As Andersen has stressed the importance of getting the scholarships balanced out among offense and defense.
