Big Ten
Minnesota lost on Thursday and finished one game out of the Big Ten Tournament in ninth place. Had Minnesota won one more game in the Big Ten (other then against Penn State), the Gophers would have finished seventh and knocked out the Nittany Lions.
Michigan finished fourth in the Big Ten. Oregon State fans should be cheering on Michigan to win the Big Ten Championship. Michigan opens with Iowa before playing Illinois or Penn State.
Big 12
Oklahoma State and Texas Tech each made the ten-team Big 12 Tournament. Oklahoma State finished 2nd, and Texas Tech finished 10th. Unfortunately, that means that Texas Tech would play Oklahoma State with a win. Texas Tech would play the UCF/Cincinnati loser with a loss. Oklahoma State would then play the UCF/Cincinnati winner. Oregon State should be cheering on Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.
Big West
No Tournament. Santa Barbara's magic number over Irvine is one. Irvine would win the Big West with a sweep of CSUN, and a Riverside sweep of Santa Barbara.
Naturally, Oregon State is rooting for CSUN to sweep Irvine. CSUN can finish as high as fourth in the Big West with a sweep and a Fullerton sweep of Hawai'i.
Bakersfield currently sits in ninth with the tiebreaker over Fullerton. Bakersfield also has the tiebreaker over Long Beach State for eighth. Oregon State is also rooting for Bakersfield to sweep Davis.
Mountain West
Nevada lost on Friday and then the three-way tiebreaker to Fresno and San Jose to finish out of the Mountain West Tournament.
New Mexico finished second in the Mountain West. Oregon State fans should be cheering on New Mexico to win the Mountain West Championship. New Mexico starts with San Jose before playing Air Force or Fresno.
Summit League
North Dakota State finished second in the Summit League and will open with Oral Roberts. North Dakota State will then play Northern Colorado or Omaha.
West Coast Conference
Portland finished second in the West Coast Conference, and Gonzaga finished fourth. Gonzaga opens in an elimination game with Santa Clara. Their opponent in the second game would depend on whether Pepperdine or St. Mary's win the first game. If Pepperdine wins, Pepperdine plays San Diego, and Gonzaga will play Portland. If St. Mary's wins, Gonzaga will play San Diego, and St. Mary's will play Portland.
Generally speaking, Pepperdine wins help Oregon State's RPI over St. Mary's wins. If Gonzaga beats Santa Clara, a Pepperdine win would guarantee a team in the semifinal with a chance for the loser to come back into a second semifinal through the losers' bracket.
