Hopefully those three teams have better seasons next year, because none of them are playoff teams this year.

Glad it was not those teams this season for how the RPI post season race is going. Seems OSU was relegated to the worst grouping: Feb 14-16: Arizona, Clemson, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, and Texas; Feb 21-23: Arkansas, Georgia, TCU, and Michigan; Feb 28-Mar2: Auburn, Baylor, Ohio State, and Oregon State Also not part of the Mid-week games Feb 18, 19, 26. Maybe can find a way to add one like they did with TT this year. Since Surprise is scheduled for Feb 14-17 (Fri-Mon) it gives OSU plenty of time to schedule a series or two down that way... A&M, Tech, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, ASU, Zona, or ?? If Surprise is not upgraded that is (7) pretty poor games to begin the season unless there is a good series or two while down south.

I like the matchups. Get to play Big ten, SEC, and Big 12 in the tourney. Plus the exposure we get from that tourney is awesome.
I’m certainly not going to poo poo going independent. I think it was our only chance of saving ourselves from a mass exodus similar to what we saw in football and basketball (where we left for the MW and WCC). I stand by the choice 100%.
Bottom line is, win games. Teams like Indiana state and UC Irvine are pushing to host regionals, we will be able to also if we just do what we are supposed to do.

All true, but Irvine and Indiana St have conferences and auto bids. Winning a conference means something, and allows for a much easier chance to find enough high quality NC games.

No disrespect to these programa or their conferences, but it would be a significant step back for the program if OSU is relying on an autobid to make the field of 64. I don't think that should have any bearing on potential host prospects in future years. I do agree it may be tough to schedule games in April/May though...

I am reminded of Miami. When Miami joined the Big East in 1991, Miami baseball remained independent. The result? 13 consecutive Tournaments and 10 College World Series before Miami joined the ACC . Oregon State can do this.

I am reminded of Miami. When Miami joined the Big East in 1991, Miami baseball remained independent. The result? 13 consecutive Tournaments and 10 College World Series before Miami joined the ACC . Oregon State can do this. That's because the Big East sucked in baseball and Miami had no incentive to join when it could play almost 50 home games a year because of its superior weather. Many of its games were against Northern teams playing outside for the first time that season. We can't do that. And Miami's program has taken a serious dive since joining the ACC and having to play real road games against real opponents.
