The thing is...I know it's not the program's money...but will the program even make $2 million more with his signing? Will the NIL sponsors make that all back? Where is the ROI?
It's like somebody out there was "Well, I could feed 100 people for a year or...I could sign a player for one year to my alma mater."

It's just like that.....money down the drain.

It definitely works

No doubt a strong booster who is tired of Washington's long, long history of futility in the Big 10 and is determined to .. . Oh, wait! . . . Washington doesn't have a history in the Big 10. Allow me to rephrase:
No doubt a strong booster who is tired of Washington's short, short history of futility in the Big 10 and is determined to . . .
Judge is right; it's money down the drain for whoever's paying it. Speak is also right; college sports, as we have enjoyed them in Corvallis, are dead. There are about 350 schools playing D1 basketball, most just to get a share og the TV money. Within the next 5 years, about 300 of them, including OSU, are going to be given the boot so that the money will stay where it can be most effectively squandered.
I'm not going to be sorry when that happens. My loathing of the 50 has turned me off to the 300 as well. Once the official downgrading is done, I think I'll be able to separate the two entities - continued loathing of the 50 and renewed support for the 300.
