I would think a rankings in the 4-8 range gives the committee the cover to put us in top eight if we wind up in that 10-13 RPI range. Our recent history playing in Tuscon dwarfs all of the other "what if" scenarios.

I think Florida State is a Regional Host and not a top eight seed. Virginia and Wake look similar. Alabama needs to keep winning or they will be out despite the RPI. But who else falls behind Oregon State?

But who else falls behind Oregon State? Probably not going to be a logical decision based on RPI. Indiana State hasn't played a single ranked team and got 7 inning run ruled by a bad Vanderbilt team. One of the 5 SEC teams needs to not be selected. Idk who or the logic of it but 5 SEC teams as super seeds is just stupid.

Ranked or not, Indiana St had played more Q1 teams than OSU (9 vs 3). It has a higher NC SOS/RPI. It's average RPI win is vs 126, OSU 123. They lead their conference and predicted to get an auto bid. OSU is not?? Predicted final RPI is #9, OSU #15. Unfortunately if Indiana St wins out it gives the committee their token non P5 conference seed to break up the SEC/ACC contingent. Osu can win out and force the issue since they'll finish vs much higher RPI teams. But, it'll probably have to be with no slip ups... 2-1 in Tucson & Pac12 tourney title.

Oregon State finishes with a better record against Q1 with a series win over Arizona. If Oregon State sweeps Arizona, if my napkin math is right, Oregon State passes Indiana State in RPI, regardless of what Indiana State does. Oregon State controls its own destiny. If Oregon State stumbles, Oregon State needs help from someone above them. But it is all there in front of us. A 5-1 or 6-1 finish is top eight worthy. Short of there, Oregon State probably needs help of some sort.
