In past years, the warm air and hard infield have seemed to work against our strengths of pitching and defense. I believe this time we are coming with a much more conducive strength to Tucson - offensive firepower. Let's hope that works. I seem to recall our pitching being an issue the last time we played at UA. I also seem to recall us having played in a very cool wet climate much of that spring and experienced an extreme change in weather during that series which could certainly be reason for pitchers finding it difficult to get the same results. The hotter local weather this weekend and rest of this week looks to help ease that transition markedly compared to 22' and could be a big blessing in our favor. That said, it's hard to sweep, harder to do it on the road, and even harder when you're playing the team leading the conference standings, but it's not impossible if we're firing on all cylinders. . This should hopefully bode well for us for the PAC-12 tourney as well as I think I heard Parker say on the radio broadcast last weekend the team is staying in Arizona for the few days between the UA series and the tournament to practice in/stay accustomed to the heat.

Highs in Tucson: Thursday 92 Friday 97 Saturday 100
Highs in Scottsdale after that:
Tuesday 94 Wednesday 92 Thursday 91 Friday 96 Saturday 98
Thank God that all three games in Tucson are at night.
Oregon State desperately needs to finish atop the Pac-12 to keep playing at night in Scottsdale or in second to play in the morning.
It reminds me of the 1967 Giant Killers. Oregon State went down to Tempe in 1967, and played football in 102. Dee Andros summed up the playing conditions by saying, "It's hot as hell." 27-21 Oregon State in a barnburner.
In the end:
