I first heard his name when he was the head coach at Klamath Union HS. A couple of times when Robb was on Monday Night Football, Pat Summerall would talk about being a teammate and friend of Aaron when they were with the Giants.

Thought I remembered hearing the same thing from Frank Gifford when he was announcing.
Aaron played on some great teams, the YA Tittle/Gifford era, with the Giants and had some good years. One year he was their leading receivr as TE/SE. Made the Pro Bowl one year too.

Thought I remembered hearing the same thing from Frank Gifford when he was announcing. Aaron played on some great teams, the YA Tittle/Gifford era, with the Giants and had some good years. One year he was their leading receiver as TE/SE. Made the Pro Bowl one year too. Aaron Thomas played in the NFL Championship Game in his first two seasons in New York, losing 16-7 at Yankee Stadium in 1962 and 14-10 at Wrigley Field in 1963. The Giants finished in the cellar in 1964, and Gifford and Tittle retired. Thomas was a Pro Bowler on that team. Thomas led the Giants in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. The Giants could have made a playoffs in 1965 but lost at Yankee Stadium on the final weekend of the regular season to miss the postseason. The Giants would have made the playoffs again in 1967 with a win in Cleveland at the beginning of December but lost 24-14. Statistically, Thomas' 1967 season was better than his 1964 season, leading the Giants in 1967, but he did not make the Pro Bowl. Thomas actually was statistically better every year from 1963-1968 than in 1964 but did not dominate the Giants team statistics like he did in 1964. In 1970, the Giants only needed to win one more game to win the East and host a playoff game. The Giants lost to the Saints by four in New Orleans, one of the Saints two wins on the year, and to the Eagles by three in Philadelphia, one of the Eagles' three wins on the year. The Giants still controlled their own destiny on the final week of the season but were boat-raced by the Rams at Yankee Stadium, 31-3. After the two NFL Championship Game years, the Giants either was the best team to miss the playoffs or finished in the cellar. From 1964-1969, Thomas was a primary starter. In 1970, Thomas was primarily a backup. He retired at season's end. In his 10 seasons in the NFL, Thomas only missed seven total games.

He was also a proud alum of the San Francisco 49ers, and attended some of their alumni events.
His kids all were excellent athletes at CHS; Robb's younger brother Lance played TE at Fresno State and Oregon. One of his daughters was married or engaged to Shane Stant, of Nancy Kerrigan fame.

Leslie was Aaron's daughter? I do not know, if they ever got married.
