UOs win over Utah today gives us the chance to control our destiny. Win today and we're a half game up with UA being the only other team that controls it's destiny, could be a real fun finale.

So, would a Utah loss in the second game today (just now beginning) in Eugene, help even more re: PAC 12 title?
How about in terms of RPI? Which team winning helps OSU the most?

Utah losing gives us more buffer. But it doesn't really matter a ton since we have a half game on Oregon and Utah, matters much more that we take care of business and win these league games. As for RPI I think Oregon but it's not a big difference. t this point the most important thing for our RPI is the same as conference championship hopes, keep winning.

Best case scenario is Oregon takes the series and Utah takes only 1 game. Would be nice if Utah took the series from AZ next week or they dropped a game to Stanford. Beaver recipe for success? Just keep winning!

Teams that affect Oregon State's RPI the most besides Oregon STate: 1. North Dakota State
2. CSUN
3. Oregon
Each game for North Dakota State and CSUN affect Oregon State's RPI more than Oregon, because they have each played fewer games than Oregon. Oregon's complete resume in total affects Oregon State's RPI more than any other team in the country. Oregon State currently sits in 14th place in RPI. 15th place is Santa Barbara. Two Oregon losses alone would move Oregon State down to 15th. Oregon's wins and losses are each worth about 17.36% of Oregon State's wins and losses.

The door is closed this weekend. The Oregon-Utah winner tomorrow will need to lose one more game next weekend to open the door back up.

Utah hosts Arizona next week. that means one of them is going to lose at least 2 games. Ideal scenario is for Utah to win today vs Oregon. That pushes Oregon behind OSU(assiming OSU wins today) and a half game behind Utah.
