5 for 24 since being hit at Nevada. I think that has a lot to do with it I would think he still has a bruise mark on that hand. It wasn't a glancing strike. Whether he would admit to the fact it has an effect, that is another question.

I apologize to BeaverNation that my hike didn’t appease the “baseball gawds.” f%#* ‘em. Meanwhile, there is time for the Beavs to get their swagger back. Up to them. I can’t speak about, “the effort.” I’m not in their heads, but…. it seemed to be “lacking,” for “lack” of a better term. Their approach at the plate was s%#tty this whole series. Why sugarcoat it? Schmuck pitchers aren’t the ‘69 Mets staff. We made them look like it.

Wow, talk about no energy! The Krieg AB to end the game summed this one up...ugh

I seriously doubt that is the approach preached by the coaching staff. Strikeouts and power numbers are up across the country. The identity of a Casey like offense is not really thing in college baseball anymore. The SEC has created the trend of gorilla ball the last 4 years. Just wondering since Casey’s approach is no longer acceptable, what did you think of those launch angles and exit velocities by the Beavers for this series? Never said it was unacceptable. This team needs to have grittier AB’s no doubt. It’s just a different era of college baseball. I seriously doubt guys worry about their launch angle and exit velo. I get they are buzz words to say when the offense struggles but at the end of the day we just didn’t show up and couldn’t adapt. This teams ability to get punched in the face and bounce back has not been the same since Utah.

Last 3 weeks or so...this team does not have it to get to Omaha...will be luck to host a regional if it continues Need to get guys back - especially Micah but also Caraway. Bazz has had almost nothing to hit without Micah hitting behind him, and we really miss our best defensive OF. Guerra needs a slump-buster. Hainline with 2 bad errors this series - any explanation why he is playing SS instead of 3rd with Trosky’s better glove playing 3rd? Trosky can’t make the throws. He barely gets it there from the left side of the infield.

Has Guerra hit the ball anytime in recent memory? I haven't watched as much this season, but when I do, seems like we have a very different mentality than the Casey-led teams....hit for the fences every time no matter the scenario. Which, I guess, when it's working is great, but man, when these guys go cold and the pitching isn't there, it's pretty ugly. I seriously doubt that is the approach preached by the coaching staff. Strikeouts and power numbers are up across the country. The identity of a Casey like offense is not really thing in college baseball anymore. The SEC has created the trend of gorilla ball the last 4 years. I can sorta understand going with a veteran, but Guerra is ZERO for his last 23. Having him in the cleanup spot is insane. He strikes out with such regularity. I suppose 2024 was supposed to be the year where he made his mark and garnered a desirable draft position. At this rate he’s headed for either a free-agency signing; or a Senior year to demonstrate that he still has potential.

Baz has caught the K Infection. He has been in funk. 5 for 24 since being hit at Nevada. He’s fine. I think teams are exposing his ability to hit the ball down though. Seems to be pressing a bit with other guys not hitting. Be and flow to baseball. He’s gonna turn a corner soon.

In the end, took 2 of 3 against our ranked rival in a really tough series. Gained a game on them in the pac 12 race. I agree that today we didn’t come to play, and that we are in a funk offensively with a couple of our top bats out. But we did just win the series and arguably our top few hitters sucked for most of the series. Also saw some stellar performances from May, Kmatz, and Holmes. I’ll take it for now. Now on onto another tough week and a chance to redeem ourselves on the road. I know WSU is not very good, but they always seem to battle us, and we haven’t been good in true road series this year. Our midweek against Oregon is likely our toughest and biggest midweek game of the season. We are nearing postseason play, and every game is starting to feel that way. Go Beavs! Also gained a game on Arizona this weekend with their series loss to Washington.

No fire , no fight. We had guys who were defeated before they ever got to the plate. Some of the at bats late in the game were a disgrace to the program. We have too many soft cuddled “all stars “ who don’t have the stomach to fight. They appear completely unattached emotionally from fighting and battling. They play like minor league team who’s players are only worried about their stats and their advancement. Where did they learn that ?

On the other hand, we had a women’s basketball team who demonstrated TOTAL emotional attachment/committment to team, coach, fans, and school….. and then…. POOF…. They’re gone. It’s really hard to read, “give-a-s%#t.” I believe they do, but I thought the WBBT did too.

It sucks to lose and we aren’t seeing much production from the same guys who were running up ten runs on just about every team. But don’t go accusing them of being soft or having no fight or only looking out for themselves and their future. It’s baseless and classless.

There’s definitely a component to this team in regards to only a couple guys have that “edge” to them. Bazz is one of those guys but I think it's based around his performance. May and Kmatz have that edge but they only pitch once. For me at the beginning of the season it was McDowell and Caraway but obviously those guys are out right now. They need a team fight night or something lol.

Seems like every season batting averages come back down to earth in conf play. And beyond that, our lineup is definitely in a bit of a funk. Hopefully we can get hot soon, and stay hot.

I've seen Casey get pissed in the dugout, on the field, in the press. Haven't seen Canham do the same. Maybe he needs to.
