I understand this team doesn’t bunt as much, but why not bunt Macias when Turley is on second with no outs? Get a guy to third with one out and 4/5 guys coming up.
Oh well, up two in the ninth. Can’t ask for much more, just have to be able to finish.

Good things happen when you give up only 1 walk. Great start by May, and good job by Holmes to have a short memory and go 1-2-3

We haven't seen pitching like this for a while. Great Job. Other than Cal we've been good for 1+ games. It's any game where the pen has to go 4+ we've got to "fix". Probably why May was extended. Can't throw this start away. Hope 114+ isn’t going to bite us?! 114 is a lot, but Aces should be able to do it on rare occasions if they are dealing. If for some reason it ends up biting us, that’s just bad luck. I don’t think there was any way he should have been pulled earlier in that game. I did agree with pulling him in the ninth for Holmes. Great to see Holmes come in and look really sharp for the save. Even though he had a bad week last week, Holmes has really good stuff and has been a dependable closer for us. Overall, stellar pitching performance all game. Go Beavs! |

Only brought it up as he's only a few weeks removed from a pitch count. But, there is prob no real confidence in a 3 inning bull pen outing?! It worked... |

Winning formula. Have your starter throw like he belongs in Cooperstown to cover for too many mental mistakes. Besides Turley’s base running goof, up I count both Mason and Hainline’s throws as mental errors. Both were routine plays, both guys dropped their arms and just tried to flip the ball to first. Lack of concentration and focus. Same with Dallas, he is more than physically capable of getting a bunt down but his attempts were half assed. In a game as close as it was anyone of those could have cost us the game and we would be sitting here the morning talking about another one that got away
