I'm happy to see we are maintaining the height of our coaching staff. He may be as tall or taller than Tinkle if what I'm reading is about the right guy.

Seems like this would be an excellent place to land a job if you're looking to be head coach. Tinkle can't last much longer. It would make it seamless to be able to hand over the coaching reins within the program, like the football program did. What are the odds that he has his eye on Tinkle's job?

You never know what might happen. I was just looking at a thread from December 2020, it included phrases like " this year the stench that is oregon state men's basketball." 3 or so months later the team was in the Elite 8. I won't count Tinkle out until he's gone. I also think there are very few coaches who actually go to new schools thinking they'll be taking the job of the guy that hired them... Diaco maybe? I gotta wonder if the idiot AD that forced Riley to can Banker may have had that in mind. How many assistant coaches out there actually get promoted to HC by schools when their boss gets fired for poor performance? Trying to do "seamless" transitions when a team is doing well can make sense, not so much when a team is doing poorly. |
