In honor of the thread about running out of things to talk about- If you could take 3 former Beavs and insert them onto our current roster who would you want? How would this team fare this year?
Mine- QB-Moore. While probably not our best QB, his mobility would mesh well with the O this staff wants to run. DT- Paea. A move back to a 4-3 with Paea and Peko would do wonders. RB -Jackson. I really wanted to go D again as I don't think just adding Paea would be enough. However the talent gap from Jackson to Woods in my eyes is greater than say a change of Swancutt/J.James or Poyer/Scott.
With so many holes on this years team there really is no shortage of options. Even with these new/old additions we would still be lacking in areas but I think this would be enough to turn them into an 8 win team.

Quizz, a player and a leader both. Lyle at QB, run, pass, block Hass, we need consistency and work ethic

Levitre - could play any spot on the line Stephen Jackson - Just plain better than most football players and Niner- This is a player that can lead a team through change. Maybe Matt Moore because he's just a better athlete than Niner. I'm going offense and hopefully the defense can hold up just enough.

Have omitted defense entirely because of our offense. Only 3? Need the most versatile guys we can get:
Matt Moore - The only one of our good former QBs who could run.
Hass - Could go deep, could go short, workhorse, ran great routes, could catch the ball with people hanging all over him.
Bernard/Quizz tossup but probably Bernard because I think he was a little better as a power runner. As a pure runner I would take Jackson but he was not as versatile as the other guys.

Tim Alexander just because he was an all-time favorite.
Simonton, J. Smith, Hass just because it's been a long time and you forget how fun they were to watch..
Honorable Mention: James Newson. Loved watching that guy.

Timmy-- he would make this offense hum. Pettibone said he was the faster player he'd ever seen. Great team attitude. Stroughter--electric receiver and return man. Poyer--tough, inspirational, lock down defender.
GO BEAVERS!!! (And remember...The Beavers never lose in Berkeley!)

J Smith QB Bill Swancutt DE Steven Jackson RB
Honorable Mention: Any of the great LB's we have had over the years. Lots to choose from.

Terry Baker, QB---would probably do great in this ... I don't know, "system"? I am having a hard time defining what we are doing as an "offense" or a "system."
DeLawrence Grant, DE---We need a pass rush on Defense
Stephen Jackson, RB---But only if he was used right (i.e., if we ran the ball with him on the field!!!). If we insist on working the offense the way it's being run now, then substitute Mike Hass for Jackson so we can have some reliable outstanding receiving.

Wow, no one has said James Rodgers? He was the heart and soul of the team for a few years.

Too many to choose from. But I will stick with my favorites: Ken Simonton, Sammy Stroughter, and Al Afalava. Those men were outstanding players.

While this offense is suited for a running QB, I can't help but think what Derek would do with both Jarmon and Villamin.
RB, probably Quizz or SJack
WR Hass or Stroughter
Defense: Paea or Esera
LB Barnett
DB Weathersby
