Seems like the number of players reaching base mushrooms when Morrell is pitching. Maybe it stems from me hoping he puts a cap on the opponent. He does have a WHIP of 1.90 so I don't think you're imagining things unfortunately...

Kasper is really having a bad time. Took a K right down the middle with bases loaded!

Good night for Krieg to unleash some RBI action. Seems to be doing a lot better since getting moved down the batting order.

Jacob Kreig, not a starter to begin the season, with a massive double. Solid at bat by Reeder, also not a starter to begin the season, nearly left the yard. Great at bat by Jabin Trosky, also not a starter at the start of the season. It's almost like being really deep and getting guys some at bats can be a good thing.
People complaining about Morrell... those are formative outs he got. Yep, two walks. What the f%#* are we gonna do? Throw Aiden May today? Getting these guys meaningful appearances is only going to help come post season and into the future.

Mitch can obviously recruit and develop.

He does have a WHIP of 1.90 so I don't think you're imagining things unfortunately... You’re one of those… Depends on what you define as "one of those" lol. I like some stats, others I don't. Obviously in the end runs on the board is the only thing that matters, however I do feel like WHIP is a much better measure of how effective a pitcher is than just their ERA at face value. Some pitchers can get away with it and have a surprisingly low ERA, however typically it catches up to them eventually if they live on the edge too long. Limiting baserunners is important, even if you have a penchant for getting out of a jam.
Now, when it comes to advanced analytics and all that statistical garbage I still live in the stone age. I don't think I'll ever be a fan of living/dying by statistical analytics 100% of the time. There's still a human element to the game and gut calls to bunt, steal, hit/run, position certain guys, moving runners over with a groundball to the right side, throwing certain pitches, whatever it may be are still important too.

Oops! I didn’t even read this post but I deleted mine most likely while you were typing. I typed that to you in error. My bad! Sorry, just a big finger on a small phone deal.
