The Big Ten will have 17 baseball programs. That's more than enough. The Big Ten has no interest in us in any sport. Except it is odd and a prime number on top of that, so it is not. A 30-game, 18-team schedule is far easier to put together than a 30-game, 17-team schedule for fairly obvious mathematical reasons. |

It's baseball, 3-game series... is that 45 games with 15 series?? I think baseball is going to find WSU made a better decision for now... I apologize, Jorge. It is 5 series here and 5 series there. You play 5 series in the six-team pod. Then, you play five series in the other two pods combined, not five each. That would be 15 series. 10 series. I apologize if that was not explained clearly enough. |

Not playing (7) other teams each season isn't a way to find a true champion no matter how you set up a conference tourney. There will always be severe disparities.
Even at 17 teams the "random" scheduling will be a joke for some teams. They might as well go to 2-game series vs the other 16 teams.
It's where the super conference idea looses credibility.

True champion? The Conference Tournament in Omaha will sort things out. |

I'd actually like it if OSU was in a league in baseball. Conference championship races can get pretty exciting.
I hope the independent things works out, both in keeping fan interest and player retention. 'Cause really, being in a conference is far more entertaining than being an independent.

If we were going to settle and join a conference with Wazzu, I would like for it to be the West Coast Conference. The West Coast Conference is a better baseball conference than the Mountain West and the WAC this year and the West Coast Conference Tournament is at the Las Vegas Ballpark.
