Eight teams. That maybe opens up a series with Washington over the final 10 weeks of the regular season. The series with Wazzu probably needs to occur before that.

I'm figuring that we may play WSU 2 x ... next season.. home and home series of 3 each time?
Why not?

I think that's a smart idea. Gives them something tangible to play for, like a conference championship, an automatic NCAA berth and individual awards.

Any thoughts that this makes it more likely that Oregon State joins the Big Ten as an affiliate member? Without Wazzu, you almost have to believe that joining the ACC or Big 12 as an affiliate member is now off the table.
Four series against Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington. Three trips back East. Three Big Ten teams come to Corvallis.
I am just going to put it out into the ether to try and see, if it will come true.
Go Beavs!

If anything, it would give the Big 10 an even number of teams, thus no one would have to go out and find an opponent for the mid-season non-conference series.

Win-win for the Big Ten and Oregon State. The Beavs would get two last series with Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington. The Big Ten+8 could have three six-team pods: The five West teams + Nebraska Iowa, Minnesota, and the Illinois and Indiana teams The six East teams Play five games in the pod and five from the other two. Teams that play in Lincoln only travel to play one Central team and one East team. The teams that host Nebraska go further east three times. The other great thing is that the Big Ten Tournament is in Omaha. The only bad thing is that the Big Ten Tournament is currently the same as the old Pac-12 Tournament format. Once again, I put it out in the ether and hope that it happens.

The Big Ten will have 17 baseball programs. That's more than enough. The Big Ten has no interest in us in any sport.

It's baseball, 3-game series... is that 45 games with 15 series?? I think baseball is going to find WSU made a better decision for now...
