So if my mental gymnastics are correct... We likely have a current starting 5 of:
1/2. Meithof 1/2. Lake 3. Rataj 4. ?? Ndong?
5. Marrs?
Gonna need some portal additions or HS signees ASAP.

Ndong is more of a 5 than Marrs is today. Rataj is more of a 4 then Marrs is today. But can Marrs shoot enough to play 3? I don’t think so at the moment. My guess is they are gonna get some 6’8 guy that’s got some thickness to him which will be perfectly fine against most WCC teams. Marrs will rotate between 3-4-5 depending on who is in foul trouble or who needs a breather. Rataj and Ndong are both 4’s…….but I can’t imagine many scenarios where Ndong, Rataj, Marrs are on the floor at the same time consistently. We were much thinner at guard last year than we were on front court players. I’d say most needed is a point guard followed by a thicker inside 4-5 presence, another 2 guard that can make open shots…….another 3 G/F that can make shots. I don’t even care if they are undersized guys that get brought in…….id love to see them play fast and use the bigs athletic ability. |
