Why is Owens kicking that? Rutshman was great in an earlier game. That was feeble. Should've pretended he was kicking a field goal. It might've shanked 10 yards to the left.

From the looks of the injury front, we may see more of McMarion.

Defense is tough. These guys aren't a good team but the do play hard, I'll give them that.

The most questionable play of the game was actually what occurred before a play.....
OSU with the ball, Utah up by 5. We have a 1st down on the ~8 yard line. 1st futile play with DG..... DG can hardly WALK back to the huddle. Why not swap him out then and there - he isn't going to run with it, and we know he isn't going to pass for it. Nope, let him run another futile play, and then he keels over and falls to the turf.
That is on the coaching staff. Blount gets one shot at the end zone, coming cold off the bench.
Sigh. I can't understand why we didn't realize we had limited even further our limited options BEFORE the play was run.
Not only did the team struggle today, so did the coaching staff. It's these kinds of things that really make me wonder. If I as a couch potato can see the issue on TV (your QB can't walk at a moment where you have the ball in a position to take the lead), and the coaching staff doesn't remedy it.....not left with high confidence.....
Go Beavs!

Tough position for McMaryion here but I think we might be seeing why he was 3rd string. With some 1st team teps this week he's gonna have to show some huge improvements.

Proud of the way they played in the second half! Sure wish that team had showed up the whole game! Thought McMarion looked decent, but worried about injuries.

I've been wondering all season why we haven't seen McMarion before this, and his performance thus far is making me wonder even more. maybe he's not a mormon or something? weird

Great hold/4th down stop on D. players tried. players dropped a lot of passes. cga looks up to the utah coach a little too much.......whatever. they're buddies i guess. i guess cga comes from the whittingham coaching tree.
need to look at the QB position hard. QB needs to pass a little. Garretson is not good as a passer.
CGA needs to coach. If he can't do that, he'll need to recruit for the next few years. Every position. The trenches. QBs that can pass. Receivers.....that can catch.
I hope Nall is OK.

Good effort from the kids today. They are making progress with limited bodies. They announced 32,000 but only about 15,000 showed up to brave the weather.

Always PROUD to be a BEAVER fan. Today, ESPECIALLY! Heart and guts. Never say die. Never quit. Numerous injuries to some of our best players, and we JUST.KEPT.FIGHTING! Who would have believed it would be special teams that cost us a victory? Not me. Go BEAVS!

Go Beavs! Lot of questionable play-calling. Particularly on offense. Collins looked terrible today, as did Villamin. Blount threw the right ball, but Collins ran the wrong route. Villamin should be running fades, not Collins, anyway. The other series that had me screaming was the series to end the first quarter. After getting two yards on first down, the Beavers called two futile pass plays that fell incomplete with a strong wind helping to send them off-target to force them to punt into the wind (rather than running one more running play to run out the first quarter and get the wind). (The first punt was 15 yards into the wind, so I do not know why the offensive coordinator thought it a good idea to try and ensure that there would be a second punt into the wind.) Naturally, the center, aided by the wind, sails the ball 30 yards behind the punter for a safety. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Painful to watch. Oregon State needs an offensive coordinator in the worst way. After watching the game, here is an idea. Erickson for offensive coordinator. The situational play-calling on offense is flat out abysmally bad.
