McMaryion could at least pass the ball. Looks like the job might be his to lose now.

I'm afraid there may be nobody left to beat him. Looks like Blount and Garretson out for a while, and they are sure reluctant to give Moran a shot, so Collins is probably next man up.

There's no way Erickson becomes an OC for Oregon State but nice try! Collins needs to be more involved in the playcalling for sure but MM moving in at QB surely changes things. Anybody who has watched a game with him (as a passer) would understand this! MM is the the worst of the 3 QBs, these guys know what they're doing, you do not if you believe MM is the starter or even #2! The rest of this season is lost if MM is the starter!
Go Beavs!

Go Beavs! haha are you serious? the #1 QB throws for 1 yard in a complete half (never mind weeks of futility to make a completion further than 15 yards downfield). The #3 comes in and throws a bunch of completions! our own eyes tell us what you are saying is BS

Seems to me the only game last year he wasn't put in a bad spot was the Civil War game and he did reasonably well, not great, well enough that the offense actually moved. Based off of games so far this year he looks kind of sharp as a passer in comparison to what we've been seeing for the most part. That said, who knows how he practices or how he does on his reads. We really haven't seen him enough to really say one way or the other. It'd be so much easier if our first stringer wasn't throwing about a 15-20% completion rate on passes over 10 yards.

I may have been generous. Last week's game there was actually a mention of the actual stat - he had been 6 of 24 or 32 (I can't remember, had a fair amount of beer in me at the time) on passes over 10 yards after the first four games. I took note that it was somewhere between 17-25 percent at that time then knocked off a couple percentage points for the last two games. It would be curious to know where the announcers got that stat.

I think he knows how to evaluate talent. Speed kills. CGA? The jury's out on him. CGA, welcome to the Pac-12 and stop sucking up to your buddy in SLC. Look, coach, OSU should be better than the Utes believe it or not. So, stop being a little Utah Stater bro to the Utes. We're not Utah State. We're Oregon State. Whatever you ran at Utah State will not work other than your defense. Coach Andersen was never an offensive guru like a Dykes. CGA was never a recruiter like MacIntyre at SJSU/CO. So, look coach, better find great assistants that will make your wet dreams come true. Coach is a defensive guy? He better just focus on the D and do all that rah-rah process stuff to keep the team engaged. I still think Del Rio would have run his hilarious offense better than Utah Stater #10. Jeez. What is CGA doing? Is he really alienating the players he inherited? It's as if he wants to burn everything down when he doesn't need to? His butt must have hurt a bit at Wisco is what I'm thinking. I still cannot believe he alienated a QB he inherited at Wisco, even. Like he ruined the kid's confidence. And really, after CGA left, the kid wasn't that bad. CGA needs a Utah Stater #10, instead. He's all about Utah State and THAT level of talent. This scares me. CGA can't evaluate talent that........can qualify. But, CGA is a Pat Casey type.............without the wins. I know Rome wasn't built in a day. The clock is ticking, though. I'd take Jonathan Smith in a heartbeat at OC.......and have him on the ready to replace CGA once the process fails in 3 years. I so hope I'm wrong about CGA. We'll find out, soon. Ws and Ls don't lie. Also, very, very curious what the class will look like on LOI day. Go Beavs!

Lot of questionable play-calling. Particularly on offense. Collins looked terrible today, as did Villamin. Blount threw the right ball, but Collins ran the wrong route. Villamin should be running fades, not Collins, anyway. The other series that had me screaming was the series to end the first quarter. After getting two yards on first down, the Beavers called two futile pass plays that fell incomplete with a strong wind helping to send them off-target to force them to punt into the wind (rather than running one more running play to run out the first quarter and get the wind). (The first punt was 15 yards into the wind, so I do not know why the offensive coordinator thought it a good idea to try and ensure that there would be a second punt into the wind.) Naturally, the center, aided by the wind, sails the ball 30 yards behind the punter for a safety. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Painful to watch. Oregon State needs an offensive coordinator in the worst way. After watching the game, here is an idea. Erickson for offensive coordinator. The situational play-calling on offense is flat out abysmally bad. I cannot comprehend why they would call a long pass toward the end of a successful drive with Garretson at QB. He couldn't complete short passes yesterday, so you let him take a shot downfield? We're lucky we got the PI penalty, but the ONLY person that could catch that pass was a defender. He simply can't throw the ball on target downfield, why waste the play. As coaches, it's one thing to expect the team to execute, it's another to evaluate what they CAN execute. It certainly is frustrating. And CGA needs to start taking these kids out of the games for a series or two when they drop balls. Doesn't matter who it is. They are simply drive killers. Or at least if you are going to leave them in make them blockers, not pass catchers. Not sure Villamin should even be playing anymore. Collins with another brutal drop right between the numbers. Hernandez. All of them, it is ridiculous. I know you don't have confidence in your QB, but why would your QB have confidence in you.
