I feel like there are probably a LOT of reasons this has all happened, but I wonder if there was a meeting after the season and there was NO plan for how the schedule was going to be constructed, or no assurances from the AD they were going to do what it takes to create a decent schedule for the team. Going from I hope we stay together to EVERYONE out in two weeks is WILD. Anyone have any insights on what the conversations where after the season about the plan for next year?

I'm also wondering this...and wondering if the MBB and WBB were speaking (I have to imagine they were)...

I don't think there's much difference than what would have needed to be done regardless of the roster. - Play at a serious Thanksgiving event: Atlantis?
- Front load the non-con with heavy teams.
- Hopefully the WCC opens up at least one weekend Like the Pac-12 did to allow a non-con game mid-season.
Will those P4 coaches want to schedule us with our depleted roster now?

I think we know that's what the plan SHOULD have been, but my question was did they have AD backing/assurances that is what was going to happen? My fear is the AD didn't step up to the plate to aggressively get the plan of the big games for this team, so there was NO plan except you will play a WCC schedule next year.

People that have loved their experience and their one or two years here would of stayed. Maybe not all of them but losing 7+ out of 12 is more than just WCC and scheduling.

Oh, to go back seven days and convince Reagan Beers to put out a tweet saying something like, "We play to win every WCC game next year, beat the snot out of any former Pac12 team that has the courage to schedule us, and go further in the NCAA tournament." Maybe some of the other deserters would have said I'm on board.

Imagine her saying that after the Elite8 game in front of a national audience, which was probably too late also.

Meaning, she already knows where she's going and the reason for hitting the portal later than others wasn't because she was trying to decide whether to stay or go, it was because she was getting the details ironed out at her new school.

The women's BB program (Rueck, etc) has likely known about the exodus for a spell. It was April 8, when the program posted the above image on twitter, etc. At that time many of the high-profile Beavers had yet to announce 'portal'...but it makes sense now as to why they chose AJ as a face of the team in those April 8th posts.

Doesn't always mean they know where they are planning to go - sometimes it just means that they don't want to be contacted by a hundred different schools. Van Lith was a "do not contact" last season but also considered Stanford and South Carolina before choosing LSU.

So you're feel from the situation is that they just didn't enjoy their experience here? That's the bottom line they just didn't enjoy OSU/OSUWBB?

Vicki Maxon and Canzano seem to think the majority of it is the move to the WCC.
Seemed to be the determining factor for Hunter:

Vicki Maxon and Canzano seem to think the majority of it is the move to the WCC. Seemed to be the determining factor for Hunter: Yeah, people keep popping that up. But again, I'd have to think some of them thought through it ... -- Easiest path to getting back to the tourney if team remains -- No dealing with the death slog of Pac-12 teams every weekend (although I could see how that would be a negative as well) -- If you don't like it after 1 year, you can still transfer! -- Scouts, etc. will still see you. You aren't in Siberia. You may not be on ESPN, but you aren't outcasts. Which leads me to believe there is still something else there.

And if that group stayed together, they know it was going to be a top 5 team with a chance to win a national championship.
