What a legendary career. I’d assume the travel may have something to do with it.

Damn. Have to imagine Scott is the number one candidate. Highly doubt it. Stanford will hire a female replacement. And no, I’m not being sexist. But, they will.

Damn. Have to imagine Scott is the number one candidate. They’re in negotiations with Kate Paye.

I was thinking that she would retire. It's a good time to do so with the demise of the pac12. She had a hell of a career

Great coach who ran her program with class! Good luck with the pinochle marathons with your mom.

What a legendary career. I’d assume the travel may have something to do with it. She is 70 years old, that may have something to do with it.

It was time. Her time to retire. Incredible legacy. To her credit it she was transformational.

It was time. Her time to retire. Incredible legacy. To her credit it she was transformational. In addition to being a great coach, she had the wits to recognize that by Stanford's standards, she was looking at a mid-range roster to start the 24-25 season. GO BEAVS!!

Brink also recently mentioned that the travel played a role in her not returning (among other things as well). ACC travel is going to be pretty rough for Stanford and Cal even compared to the Big 10 and Big 12 IMO.

Totally agree with you and I heard Tara will still be involved in Stanford athletics in the "front office" so to speak and that is the perfect way to do it. Nice in which few programs have the opportunity to plan out the transition.

Paye played at Stanford and has been an assistant for the past 17 seasons. I am sure the succession plan has been in place for a while.
