As a fan, I am hoping to see Martinez play for us at least one more year. But we all know that the kid has talent far greater than anything OSU will be able to highlight, given the current circumstances. For the next year or two, our future is shaky at best. It could turn out fine or it could end up that we just become another irrelevant team in the greater scheme of things. We fans have to sit and wait to see what will happen. But time is against Martinez. He's got to make noise, stay healthy, and get drafted. I'd love for him to play here, but I completely understand and wish him well if he jumps to a team that can give him a better shot at a pro career. Good luck Martinez! Go show them what a Beaver can do! I don't know about this. I think if he got as many or more carries for OSU this season he would put up big numbers. The offensive line took some big losses but Gray is back and I think the interior should be really good. I really like the Colorado transfer Wells. Tackles are a little inexperienced but you have the big guy from Colorado and I think there might be another transfer coming. Maybe. If Martinez leaves, OSU has other backs who will do just fine. But it's a tough loss for the Beavers.

I could be wrong but I don't think that has to do with schools using NIL deals to poach players from other schools. It's more about who provides the NIL deals, etc. And it's connected to a judge's preliminary injunction ruling.

We've almost always been a plug-and-play program with RBs. Simonton, Jackson, Evensen, Quiz, Storm/Ward, Nall, Jefferson, Baylor, Martinez ... somehow we always come up with a good RB. Only "bad" year was Dwight Wright/Ryan Cole combo (I think), when DA was QB.

New Favorite RB: Isaiah Newell Honorable Mention: Jam Griffin Looking forward to: Cornell Hatcher. Have heard a lot of good things about Hankerson in practice, particularly about how versatile he is. I have a feeling its going to be Hankerson trading off with Jam. Newell spelling those guys, particularly in short yardage. I think he weighs in the 230s now. My guess is something like 40, 35, 25, percentage wise, Hankerson, Jam, Newell. And I'm not worried about our RB room at all. I'm a lot more concerned about our passing game. It hasn't been that great for some time now. Its asking a lot for Gunderson to come in and turn it around immediately. Practice reports I've seen claim Trent Walker is our best guy so far. Don't know what to make of that.

Quite possible it's either disappointment in the new system or a clash with a coach. Well, now we can have them use the NIL money for WBB I think, given we're always going to get outbid, that we should give just enough NIL to prevent them from going and forget about trying to swing gigantic paydays for anyone. Because if they're really good, it just will never matter and we'll have wasted the lot.

Martinez says $400K isn't "enough" Also, why would we give money to WBB, the sport that loses that AD department the most money? That makes zero business sense.

Agreed. There is t a high end player or coach out there denying that it's happening and many transfers are pre negotiated. Not only are they not denying it but many openly talk about it. Martinez himself has made comments about deals he has recieved. You mean the deals he's been offered, I assume. He can only receive a deal from Oregon State right now. And if he's been offered deals, it's on Oregon State to report that to the NCAA. if anyone does report nothing has happened. Dame is on record saying he got offers from other schools.

The large conversation going on in the Twitter Spaces currently is he listened to an agent telling him he needed more exposure. And that apparently is coming from a well placed source.

Guess he should have thought twice before calling out his former head coach of not having any loyalty.
