Odd move. Kentucky money fans tired of not advancing?

Arkansas has some pretty loaded boosters ... Jerry Jones, John Tyson (chairman of Tyson Foods) and yeah the Waltons of Wal-Mart fame based there in Bentonville.
Sounds like they opened up their wallets to lure him away from Kentucky whose fans were sounding pretty sour after their most recent premature exit from the tourney ... I am guessing it wasn't too hard of a decision for him to leave when his seat was starting to get pretty warm in Lexington.

Mitch in public: Trying hard not to smile, we'll miss him, yada yada yada world salad.
Mitch in private: Jumping for joy, high-fiving anyone within reach.
What a gift he just received, being able to offload an underperforming coach and saving millions and millions of dollars in the process. Like when Andersen left us.

I don't like Calimari, but comparing him to GA is a low blow. At least Calimari can coach.

Only that the situation is the same, an underachieving coaching leaving of his own accord and saving the school millions in salary owed.

If GAG had underachieved like Cal he'd still be here and we'd be in a P4 conference. Plus Cal saved UK 3 times the millions. But, sort of?!

With all the resources Kentucky devotes to men's basketball, and with the history of the program, over the past 4-5 years to have something like one NCAA win/SEC tournament win combined (or some bad record), it's underachieving. Comparing Kentucky basketball financial support and history to OSU financial support and history is apples to oranges. Cal has clearly underperformed recently compared to Kentucky's historical norms, and more importantly, to its expectations.

I was NEVER comparing what Anderpants DID at OSU to what Calipari did at Kentucky. I was noting that both coaches did their ADs a huge favor by leaving without the millions owed them.
