Jeff Lopez is now committed to the Beavs as well! Yes - Maybe Khale isn't committed yet. Lopez was the one who upset Cortez in the semis at CIF state. He finished 2nd behind Zinkin and is currently ranked #8 by Flo - He is a junior.

I like this board. Positive vibes!!
From the experts here... any of these kids program changers?
I realize no one knows the future development, but as far as being "big time" recruits??

I like this board. Positive vibes!! From the experts here... any of these kids program changers? I realize no one knows the future development, but as far as being "big time" recruits?? Sean Harman is an Oregon kid who went to Missouri and worked out with O'toole..He will come in and fill a need at 174 right away. I see him as a national qualifier level kid who could surprise a lot of people. He has some big wins in his career - such as NCAA runner up Dustin Plott. I am not sure where Olguin will be in his rehab or what the plan will be for him. He is another factor in the lineup - especially if he can go 165 and if there was a way to get Fouret to 157. But all of that is speculation. Lopez is what I would call a late bloomer with a high ceiling....very high ceiling. My understanding is that he actually took time off from wrestling for a couple years. This past season, he knocked off highly ranked and recruited (Cornell commit) Isaiah Cortez of Gilroy. Cortez was a returning state champ and very successful on the national scene with a win over Bo Bassett. Lopez beat him 5-1 in the semis , then lost to another high ranked wrestler Nikade Zinkin. The jump he has taken in the last year after taking time off, has me very excited about him. I think the coaches did a great job of watching him, his improvement, his ceiling and going out and getting him. He will probably end up a 133-141 is my guess. McDonnell is TJ's brother who is currently on the team. Tough kid. Placed 5th at a very tough CA tournament as a junior. Here is the interesting thing about him. He started the season at 165 and ended the season at 190. He was cutting very hard at the beginning and it was showing in his performance. He decided to go up - first to 175.... then to 190. He was actually a small 190. He will be a title contender next year. Ariene Reyes is another one coming in 2025. He was a national Fargo champ last summer. Ranked #13 in the country. Several time state placer - even as a freshman which is tough to do in CA. Kid is a stud. He will probably be a 174 at OSU. Look for him to be on the podium this summer at Fargo. Lots to be excited about with this class coming in 2025 as well as transfers.

To put it in football terms - we just got a plug and play P5 transfer from a blue blood school who will start day 1 at DE and 2 4-star recruits with a whole lot of upside. I agree with Idaho - I see Harman as a top 15 type of guy and national qualifier. He's battle tested with some huge wins on his resume. I'm excited about Lopez. Interestingly enough, Flowrestling's #7, 8, 9 ranked wrestlers in the country are from Fresno and Gilroy. Just a boatload of great wrestlers in those communities. Great pipeline to have. Current Beavs Olguin and freshman Sergio Montoya are from Fresno. Nathan Aguilar is from Gilroy. If everyone healthy next year, the back end of our dual line up - Olguin 165, Harman 174, Trey 184, Rademacher 197 and Aden Attao at heavyweight - is going to be pretty formidable.

Couple of tid bits...real excited about the Lopez kid.
Rewind 5 or 6 seasons ago. At the Mike Clock tournament, watched the 165 final between our Aaron Almos, then a RS Freshman & West Linn senior Sean Harmon. Yup he was still in HS but committed to Mizzou at that time. Harmon won the final in a tight match. Mateo stormed off the mat and Sean fist pumped his win. My jaw hit the floor wondering why we missed out on this guy. Turns out patience was in order to finally see him come back home.
I think he's spot started here & there for the Tigers. Mostly behind Peyton Mocco, who went 0-2 in KC this year.
