Probably Dinged up. He's played a ton this season and getting him a break and Wilson going is just sensible. We've been resting guys with minor stuff all season because we can.hopefulky it's the same for Tanner.

Webber is hitting. Smith wasn't. You hit, you play. Pretty simple.

Better play by Webber? Smith injury? Smith discipline/academics? Other? I believe that Henry Skrimshander hit the nail on the head. Weber is killing it hitting, and Smith isn't at the moment. To my eye, Smith has the better arm. But unless a team has a huge SB threat (like Utah, Smith started two games, and Weber gave up four steals), it isn't worth it to play Smith over Weber at the moment.

Smith is quite simply NOT that much better a defensive catcher than Weber.
On the other hand, Weber is clearly an offensive threat and seems effective in clutch situations. Smith is a fairly predictable liability to simply strikeout.
I would much rather see Weber in the lineup on a regular basis. Smith could spell him occasionally.
