That was several cups of saké ago. I have no clue now. Thought Japan used milliliters. -milli=Liters!

I know you have to win the game you're playing. We did.
But we cannot keep giving opponents 32 or 33 outs a game. That is unsustainable.
We need McDowell back in the 2 hole. Too many empty at-bats with Turley when runners need to be scored or otherwise advanced.
Why the F Holmes is throwing a back-foot curve ball on a 1-2 count to the dude he hit - and why you throw anywhere close to a guy leading off the 9th with a five-run lead - is a real mystery.
And I'm not sure why Smith wasn't catching, Trosky at short and Hainline at third for the 9th. Put your best defensive team on the field.

Billy “Sunglasses” Van Raaphorst. You can always count on controversy and lousy umpiring when he’s behind the plate. Every time.

I didn't think that the game against Washington in 2021 or the Cal Poly game was that bad last year was that bad. The 2018 tie against Wazzu and the 2021 Stanford game, though? I tend to agree.

Are you saying 3-4 hits and 2 walks is a bad outing for our pitchers?

There must have been 5 or 6 balls that just dropped in between infielders and outfielders between the two teams. Combination of some wind, outfielders playing deep, communication and luck. Not to overstate the obvious but we don't have the likes of Madrigral, Grenier and Gretler playing infield defense, probably never will and we probably should not expect it. This teams identity is that defense is something we do to pass the time between turns at bat which is something we are doing at a rate that might be the best ever at OSU. Very good team with different strengths and weaknesses than we are accustomed to.

This teams identity is that defense is something we do to pass the time between turns at bat which is something we are doing at a rate that might be the best ever at OSU. Very good team with different strengths and weaknesses than we are accustomed to. Maybe it is a change to the coaching philosophy, so that's why we shouldn't expect it. But some of these guys are not far off the mark from Madrigral, Grenier, and Gretler and that mark isn't insurmountable. I'd suggest that Madrigal, Grenier, and Gretler were just stepping into a long line of great position players before them.
Perhaps the value of defensive coaching has dipped in favor of the more electric home run hitting.
Regardless, I think we should expect mostly clean play from a team of high caliber. Are we a team of high caliber?
