McDowell is the biggest loss right now in my opinion (with maybe an exception being the three bullpen arms in Scott, Lattery, and Palmer collectively). You could really get a sense for the loss of his offensive ability in the USC series. He is our best guy for the two hole, he hits for a high average, has pop, is a good base runner, and a great bunter. Easily our best fit for our guy hitting behind Baz, and right before getting to our power/RBI guys. As much as I really like Hainline and Turley, they aren’t great two hole guys. Turley’s skill set is much better for a 4/5 guy, and Hainline (while batting only around .260 this year), is better in the 6,7, or 9 spots.
