Still no McDowell or Kasper....and Trosky sitting this one out with Peterson getting another DH start McDowell is the biggest loss right now in my opinion (with maybe an exception being the three bullpen arms in Scott, Lattery, and Palmer collectively). You could really get a sense for the loss of his offensive ability in the USC series. He is our best guy for the two hole, he hits for a high average, has pop, is a good base runner, and a great bunter. Easily our best fit for our guy hitting behind Baz, and right before getting to our power/RBI guys. As much as I really like Hainline and Turley, they aren’t great two hole guys. Turley’s skill set is much better for a 4/5 guy, and Hainline (while batting only around .260 this year), is better in the 6,7, or 9 spots.
