Oakes looked good. Not just no hard contact, but almost no contact at all.

Holy s%#t that was ridiculous from Baz. I literally said to my wife after pitch 1 that HR 50 is coming. He almost cleared the eye and didn't even pretend it wasnt gone.

We need to. But, to be fair their starter was the lower depths of their pen and K'd (7). These 200+ rpi teams should not be such a struggle. He is a frosh and Gonzaga can get good talent, they are usually fairly competitive right? 17 IP, 22 H, 11 R, 8 BB, 20 K, 3 WP, 5 HBP, 5.29 ERA (counting todays game). Not great but I wouldn't mind him in our weekday rotation. Def can throw nice breaking stuff which is our bane apparently. He pitched for the Knights last summer before enrolling at GU and did very well, 2.61 ERA and 18Ks in 20 innings.

I was thinking that kid should jump into the Portal for next season. I know a team that could use a good lefty!

This was one heck of a play.. First he had to cover a lot of ground in a hurry, then had to barehand the ball on the run, and then throw across the momentum of his body. Check, check, check = OUT Love defensive highlights. The long ball is nice and all, but defense wins championships.
