I haven’t heard anything in a while re: our new conference home. I’m assuming the logical move is to join B12 as an affiliate. Anyone with any news?0

Hoping we can pull that move. WCC/MW makes no sense. Is there any reason they couldn't keep the P12 together/add some teams? ArkLR, CSU B and CalPoly all are not full members of P12 anyway. Cal Baptist, North Colorado and Air Force all fit the geography, as they are already in B12, would probably be difficult. I hope with the season being done we see a renewed focus by leadership at OSU to get wrestling in a position of strength headed into 2025. CP and Engel have done a lot to improve our program and it would a shame to see it be undone. It is striking how few opportunities there are to wrestle D1 on the west coast.

Yeah with Stanford going ACC and ASU going B12 it feels like our only option is to hope the remaining 4 end up Big 12 and they do some sort of east/west split? West: OSU, CBU, Cal Poly, Cal Bakersfield, ASU, UVU, Air Force, UNC, Wyoming East: NDSU, SDSU, Ok State, Oklahoma (I think they are still wrestling B12), WVU, Iowa St, UNI, Missouri, Little Rock Of course as we know, no one seems to consider geography anymore in this weird state we're in, so who knows...

It has been pretty quiet on the conference front...but I know there are some discussions going on. I think there are a couple of options: 1. Joining the Big 12 for two years. I like the idea above of an East/West split. Nice work there. Unfortunately having dealt with conferences, it's too logical 2. With the MW merger, add AirForce and Wyoming to the fold for our 6 teams. 3. Stand pat... yes that is actually an option and we have done it before. The conference is allowed to stay under the minimum for two years. If I remember correctly in that scenario we only get the champion from the conference and all others are subject to at-large bids. This would make the out of conference schedule crucial in terms of getting an at-large, which for us, the coaches have done an excellent job creating.
