I read where he played at D3 Hamilton in New York State, then got his first coaching job at U of San Diego. I guess he is a true east coast/west coast guy.

Mid-major to a P5 program doesn’t seem like a lateral move to me. I’d guess at minimum he’ll be getting a $500k raise too. Wish I could find a lateral move like that. |

I was thinking more in terms of how the basketball programs are now. He turned WSU around and no reason to think he wouldn't keep it going. Stanford hasn't made NCAA tourney in 10 years. |

Jump while the iron is hot. No guarantee that another season like this one would put him in line for better P5 job than Stanford, so take the next step now while it is there. I think WSU loses its top 3 scorers, and a down year at a mid major isn’t going to help his prospects. |

The raise will be a negative impact overall unless he's also getting housing, or a large housing allowance. But, ACC is several steps above the WCC. He's had several jobs around that area so he knows exactly what he's being into as far as ability to recruit, salary, COL, etc. |

Amazing how fast these deals are offered and agreed to now days. It’s almost like they happened earlier, but that’s just crazy talk. Coaches are too busy focusing on the task at hand.

It's strange to me working on these deals in the middle of the postseason or while there's still plenty to play for (a certain someone comes to mind). Just the world we live in these days I guess, but it isn't everyday you get a chance to make an NCAA tournament run, having a sweet 16, elite 8, etc. on your resume can go a long way. Just ask WT  |

Tough job competing in that conference. Their 2 HS 5-star players went in the portal. His first step should be trying to get them to come back. |

Looks like Jim Shaw is looking for other opportunities if WSU doesn't promote him. Would be nice to bring him back to Corvallis but would really suck for our Cougbros
