There were different rules then. The warmer weather schools used to play more games. Pete was a stud. Nobody is touching that record. 100 in his career is just astounding. Am I right that the maximum today would be 55 regular season + 5 P12 tourney + 5 regional + 3 supers + 5 cws double elimination + 3 champ? So 73? I believe that with the scheduling rules changes between 2007 and 2008, you are limited to 56 regular season games. Oregon State is missing one game this year but will make it up, assuming that they qualify for the Pac-12 Tournament. You can only have four in the Pac-12 Tourney, though. So, those two should cancel each other out. But your numbers add up to 76, not 73. 76 is the correct answer. Before they changed the Pac-12 Tournament format between the 2022 and 2023 seasons, you could play up to six games in the Pac-12 Tournament. 78 was the maximum total number of games in 2022.

I highly doubt it. Not going to knock a team for going on the road in the SEC and getting a series win against a ranked opponent. Washington also probably the worst team in the PAC12 this year. Like I’ve said before we should run through the PAC injuries or not. Be healthy and ready to go for PAC tourney and post season.
They did win a series against a then-ranked Texas team in Austin last weekend...
If you followed Texas I think it’s safe to say they are the most Jeckal and Hyde team in college baseball right now. It was definitely a good series win but I wouldn’t look too far into it.

I was curious if Baz was on pace for a single season hr record. No he's not, Pete Incaviglia had 48 in 75 games in 1985. How does a team even get 75 games? OSU plays 55 regular season games. Add up to 4 games in the PAC 12 Tournament. Thats 59. If you go through the loser's bracket in your regional, you have to play 5 games. That's 64. Super Regional you can play up to 3. That's 67. If they play in the CWS and go through loser's brackets that's 5 more. Thats 72. then it's a Best of 3 finals. Thats 75.

Sword side 1...We are #1!!!!!!!! Sword side 2 everybody we play wants to knock off #1 The other 2 loss team can be #1 Clemson? Clemson has more wins (22 v. Oregon State's 21), more wins over the past month (18 v. 16), and a longer current winning streak (7 v. 4). Clemson has also played a more difficult schedule to date. Arkansas and Clemson are the only two teams that arguably have had a better start to the season. Oregon State should definitively not be ranked lower than third. But I think that you can make arguments for 1-3.

I feel pretty strongly the top 5 will be: #1 Arkansas #2 Oregon State #3 Clemson #4 Florida #5 Texas A&M I would say take it to the bank but #4 and #5 are pretty easily interchangeable. Top 3 lock it in!

TAMU is #4, and Tenn jumped Fla after the Gators went 2-2 this week. d1baseball.com/top-stories/d1baseball-top-25-arkansas-remains-no-1-as-four-teams-enter-rankings/?logged-in=8842&v=1711379861

What's up with the Florida love? They are getting a lot of grace. Their RPI is 18, 9 losses, and several bad losses. They did take 2 of 3 from LSU over the weekend, but still....

My favorite is Vandy and FSU. Vandy gets swept by unranked SC State...drop 4 spots to #7 FSU gets swept by #4 Clemson....drop 5 spots to #17

Florida lost the first game against St. John's back on February 16th. Since then, they have won every weekend series. 0-1 against St. John's. 3-3 in midweek, one midweek loss to Central Florida and one midweek loss to Florida State. But I believe that the argument is that LSU are the defending champs and are top eight. Florida beat LSU in Baton Rouge (even though the Gators won the Saturday game in 11), so Florida is a top eight team, as well. Why Central Florida and Florida State are not ranked ahead of Florida alludes me, though.

Florida has been highly ranked no matter what they've done though....before they knocked off LSU......on one hand, I kinda like the "not overreacting" to a loss here, and there. But 9 losses, is 9 losses. I guess we'll see how they look in May.

What is everyone thinking for a ranking tomorrow?
I am personally hoping for sixth. I cannot believe that Oregon State would be ranked higher.
