Playing time is earned, not given. Hindsight questioning of an Elite Eight run is crazy. Yeah, I'm questioning an Elite Eight run. Sure. Ridiculous. Agreed. It's quite ridiculous that you questioned the coach's playing time decisions in the thread above. Get a grip. |

So aside from the fact that my original comment was made with a dash of sarcasm, yes, I believe his defense-first mentality overrode a better decision (IMO) in giving Blacklock SOME more minutes. It is a fact that Blacklock has the ability to boost the offense. Rueck started her for the final four games of 22-23 and she had 14 points with 2 rebounds and 2 steals, 22 points with 5 rebounds, 15 points with 6 rebounds and 2 steals and 12 points with 3 rebounds in those games. I get that there wasn't as much playing time to go around last season and Dom was a big part of that in the second half of the season. I would also point out that in the NCAA tournament, Rueck played Marotte 27 minutes vs. Eastern Washington and she scored 2 points. Against Nebraska, Marotte played 23 minutes and scored 2 points. So what happened when they left Corvallis and had to play Notre Dame and South Carolina? Rueck cuts AJs PT by about 10 minutes a game. She played 14 minutes with no points against ND and 13 minutes with no points against SC. Paurova got some of those minutes, which was a good decision. But interesting that the Beavers' supposed star defensive stopper was riding the bench a lot more when points were at a premium. |

And now Saylor Poffenbarger has entered the transfer portal again. Started at UCONN, transferred to Arkansas, averaged a double double but on her way out of Arkansas. I guess the barger's, Wolfen and Poffen didn't like Arkansas. Or Neighbors? |
