I'm not thrilled that the 8 left. I can understand the urge to change one's mind - as I'm parenting a graduating HS Senior right now. I would absolutely support her in changing majors/schools/sports in the coming months and years. When an athlete comes to a school it's a transaction - they agree to be on the team, the school agrees to cover education etc. When the season is over, the transaction is complete.
As a fan, I hoped they'd stay for their entire college time. So much for hope.
The new school choices the outgoing 8 are making certainly strike me that the adult advisors in their worlds are optimistic leaning towards delusional.
Playing BEHIND... JuJU, Betts/Dugalic, VanLith, Cavinder twins, WOW. Just defies logic...
Everyone gets an opinion, but WOW.
GO BEAVS!

Haley Cavinder decommitted from TCU to join her sister at Miami (where Lily is currently visiting!). Van Lith went to LSU last season to learn to play point guard but didn’t exactly have a stellar year. Much as I wish Dono hadn’t left, I think she’ll be fine.

I would suggest there are considerable differences in the departure of similar numbers on the men's side vs. the women's side (note, I agree with the rest of your post): - SR is always in the conversation for Pac-12 and national COTY honors, while WT is perhaps still ascending to such heights - the "brand" the WBB team built was all around loyalty, family, built not bought, love of teammates etc. - I actually believe the fan following for the WBB team is slightly different than the MBB team - or maybe the same fanbase thinks of the two teams differently, so we are taking the Elite 8 Run(aways) departure somewhat personally [though a couple of them could play the "I graduated" or "I need more PT" card with clear conscience in my mind]. - not clear if most of the WBB folks departing have improved upon "team is a frontrunner for Final 4" status with their landing spots, while seems some of the men's transfer locations might result in them at least making the Big Dance. I continue to tell myself these young women have every right to live their lives, owe me nothing, and the larger socio-political landscape is conducive to their behaviors......but I still don't have to like it. Go Beavers!

For reasons I will not discuss I am very glad Hunter is gone. Enough said? C'mon, you can't just throw that out there and then not explain it.

My take is she's a pushed kid. Think she needed to get away from home to work on her own maturity. Most of the athletes on campus here are just the nicest, kindest, caring people on earth. And, we pay them nothing besides a scholarship. Most of the Elite 8 tried to be that way but for a few they're disingenuous camouflaged an entitlement arrogance. Yes, star in the making, but at what cost?

For reasons I will not discuss I am very glad Hunter is gone. Enough said? Um, no. I say either bring it, or don’t post anything at all.
