This group still would have been a long way from winning the whole thing. Maybe. But I will stick with my statement that no more than 1 or 2 of those that left will make it to the elite 8 again. I would agree with that. The 4 bench players this last year have zero chance of winding up at a program anywhere near the level of the one they are choosing to leave. The 4 starters? They're certainly good enough, but top ten teams share one thing in common - they're all loaded, just like we would have been. They already have their Talia, their Donovyn, and so forth. There are holes to fill, and maybe a couple of those players will get back to the elite 8. USC could certainly make it again, but Oklahoma, Colorado, Louisville, or Kentucky? Don't think so. One correction - Paurova could sneak into a top tier program.

Nothing worse than making allegations and not explaining why there were lied to and deceived. What is the basis for saying it. It is easy to be vague. Need to come out and just state the facts as to why they were lied to and deceived. Then everyone can make up their own mind. I am not calling Favre a liar, I would just like to get the facts and form my own opinion. There is also a chance that the players are trying to justify their decisions to their parents by making the staff look bad. Easier to say it was their fault

That was strange. Most of the girls on the team showed up at the Gathering tonight. I did not except that. Other than that it was semi-normal end of year celebration of the teams accomplishments. I was glad to celebrate them while holding on to my emotions about them leaving. The word "Awkward Comes to mind." The elephant in the room never got discussed. Why are they leaving? Anyway, hopefully this evening brought me some closure.

Who was there and who was not there? In my simple mind, the women that were there have not closed any doors. It's maybe like they are telling their boyfriend they are no longer exclusive until he does something different.

Dono was the only one missing. If memory is correct, he didn't say she couldn't make it, he said "she isn't here".

My take on Lily---improving player in all facets of the game---happy enough here with her PT and teammates---feels like she can compete with the best now with her size and 3 pt shooting ability and improved defense---probably a little homesick. Now that most of her teammates have bailed and her team is being relegated to a weaker conference she has simply decided that it is a good time to move back closer to home and back to top level competition. I wish her well and enjoyed watching her progress into a top level player during her time here. FWIW---I just noticed Lily's Dad "liked" my post on Lily from a few days ago.

From a public perception of head coaches personalities going from Rueck to Auriemma would be lots of culture shock.

WBB Goal. Few years ago, like 5 years I set a WBB goal to go see a game at UCONN. Large crowd, almost filled the place, Gamble Pavilion. Was amazed by the depth of the team. Like most home games they won with ease. If Regan went there I'd have to wonder how much she'd play.
Come to think of it I wonder how much any of our girls would play with other teams. This years team won as a team, played as a team. Not sure how that translates for our individual players in other teams.

The seemingly lack of recruiting movement from the portal and the quiet from rueck is concerning, I'd say more so the portal. Scott doesn't strike me as the type of person that would leave the program hanging for a long period of time if he was leaving and not actively be recruiting. It may just be we have a tougher time recruiting from the portal than we think because we don't want to settle for a 5'2" guard out of St Bonaventure.

It may just be we have a tougher time recruiting from the portal than we think because we don't want to settle for a 5'2" guard out of St Bonaventure. He may also still be in shock himself.... He might be waiting to see if some subset of the Elite 8 run(aways) are having second thoughts and might want to withdraw their names (I would be surprised if the high visibility "stars" e.g. TG, TvO, RB come back, but some of the "rising stars" - folks that were coming into their own - e.g. Dom, Lily may have second thoughts?). In that case, having a banquet and including folks that might still be swayed to stay might be prudent. To your point, he has always emphasized team chemistry and character, so finding portal gems might be challenging (why are they in the portal to begin with?). Though now seemingly *everyone* is in the portal..... Lastly - just like us, he might have been caught by surprise and even a bit flat-footed. Most sane Beaver fans or even outside commentators didn't think a team that would be penciled in for a Final Four run in 2025 would just blow up the way it did. Finding 8+ new players when you thought you were maybe needing 1-2 might be hard to ramp up for quickly...... Go Beavers!
