Gonzaga got a #4 seed, a home regional, and also got to play in Portland. If this team stays together and wins the WCC, there is no downside. None. We will be ranked. We'll get to play our conference tournament in Las Vegas, We'll get a 3 or 4 seed and get a home regional. Exact same thing we got this year. That is a HUGE 'If'. Gonna be lot's of interest from P5 teams in poaching a bunch of our players (and even coaches) Certainly true. And they'll be coming with money in hand. If we're blessed enough to have them all stay, bear that in mind.

I'm expecting Utah and Colorado to come after Gardiner and Beers as well as some of the legit national recruiting schools like LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky (especially considering they just hired a legit coach and have a bad roster currently).
The money will be there for beers,Gardiner, Hunter for sure. Could even see Talia getting some cash to play for a one year rental. I'm guessing she's graduating this spring.
If any of them do decide to leave, I think it's important that beavers fans don't do what they've done with Jones and Brown. It's a bad look and if any of us were in a position to totally change our lives financially and potentially set themselves up for national exposure, Even more nil money, etc, we'd likely consider it too. It is not the players fault that we are now in the WCC which is obviously a huge step down.
Hell, if Rueck himself gets poached, who could really blame him?

Rueck is pulling in close to $1M/yr coaching at a program he built, plus at his alma mater. He ain’t going anywhere. I’m not sure there is the NIL money in WBB that you think there is—at least for the majority of players. And certainly not enough to “totally change lives”. I think Beers and Gardiner already considered playing closer to home, and picked OSU anyway. I think the core stays intact, at least for another season.

He's making a million a year, could be making 3. Which when you take a 6 year look that's 6 vs 18 million. If you think he doesn't have an agent at least looking at the possibilities, you're likely naive. Do I expect him to leave, no. Is it a reasonable possibility, I would say without question. As far as money in the nil for 5 star players coming off an elite 8 appearance, there is indeed. $300,000 vs $500 off a Toyota lease, they'll have to make the decision to turn down a lot of money to stay. A 20 year old, sticking a half a million in a decent investment for 20 years is 1.6 million at 6%. So at 41 years old, could have 1.6 million in the bank for having switched to a higher profile basketball program flying on private jets, playing in the big games like they've become accustomed to in the PAC 12. They all might stay and I hope they do but the stars are going to be inundated with opportunities.

That refute. All this big $ claims... assuming "big" I'd 5 figures.

Only 18 coaches in the woman’s game are at $1M/yr, per USA Today. Those making $3M? Very, very short list. Coaches who have multiple Final Four appearances and National Championships to their credit. Out of 360 D-1 programs. Rueck is doing just fine.
What does he have to prove? That getting to the FF wasn’t a one-off. To see if he can get to a NC game, just to name a couple.

I've heard the numbers being thrown at Donovan are 6 figures and she's only the 3rd best prospect on the roster. I guess we'll see.

That's a fair point and something that I failed to really look at is that none of the big time programs have coaches on the hot seat really. Which is good news and probably just means that Coach Rueck stays and gets a pay bump and even more job security. Which he and his staff definitely deserve.

Did you see any of his post game comments?? Rueck is more tied to this place than really ANY coach at OSU. He's the least likely to leave IMO.

I think he stays, but a pay bump is very unlikely with the drop in revenue in the AD department.

It looks like Georgia Amoore has entered the portal. If you know any more details, please elucidate!

It looks like Georgia Amoore has entered the portal. If you know any more details, please elucidate! Her coach left for Kentucky. She’s “do not contact” so I’d assume following him.

I think Leger Walker is transferring. She posted a thank you note but didn’t mention declaring for wnba draft, just like Georgia Amore
