It was discussed before, but I've forgotten the answer. Do some players who enter the portal change their mind and choose to stay in their original school? Or, when you put your name in the portal are you for sure gone?
In short: is there any chance that any of the Beavers who entered the portal will be back next year? GO BEAVS!!

Why is TCU such a terrible place for her? Because Campbell is there? Because they can put together better NIL deals than OSU? Because she would be playing in the Big 12 instead of the WCC? She is a traditional guard requring a good to great post and another great outside player for her to flurrish in. They have a great post in Sedona Prince (19.7 points, 9.7 rebounds a game in 21 games). Madison Conner averaged 19.2 points and was a very good 3-point shooter. TCU had tons of injury problems. It would not surprise me to see them in the top 25 next year.

Dont do it donovan you need a better offer go somewhere else or come back here I don't follow many college WBB teams other than pretty closely following the Beavers. But this got my curiosity up, so I took a look. TCU's leading assist guard is returning as a senior (TCU already has their 2024-25 roster posted...8 players) " Jovanovic: Ranked second in the Big 12 in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.11....Started at point guard over TCU's final 15 outings".....hmmm. In addition their roster includes two prominent 'Social Media Influencers': Haley Cavinder (who's opening tagline when Googled is "American media personality")
and
Sedona Prince (former Longhorn-Duck......." As of 2023, Sedona Prince net worth is $2 million dollars. Her major income comes from salary, bonus, and brand promotion...." Sounds pretty weird.

There was an entire thread about the whole NIL/social media stuff. Cavinder and Prince (in particular) are social media influencers who also play basketball. And the net worth is based on valuations of their social media following, etc. Although I don't think that really takes into account how much actual income they get through specific NIL deals.

He gutted OSU as much as he could, he gutted the Ducks as much as he could, and he gutted Sacramento State. Montana saw through him and didn't hire him, to Sacramento States regret they hired him. Campbell cares about one person in this universe and it certainly isn't any of his players. And if you think that's how everyone is I think you need to see a psychiatrist.

Think about what job openings exist right now that are a step up from Oregon State even considering we are headed to the WCC. Stanford is open but it really isn't. They already had her replacement on staff. I was thinking WNBA gig

He was there with Rueck during the initial rebuild. He helped Graves rebuild uo and as is now obvious, Graves drives people & players away. And lots of former uo players have been on his staff at both Sac State & TCU. He took Sac State from a 3-22 record to winning the conference for the first time in program history in 2 years. Leaving after 2 years for a Power 5 job at a time when white males weren’t getting hired for WBB head coaching jobs seems understandable. And TCU went from 8-23 to 21-12 in one season. Mark & Xavi Lopez appear to be pretty good at recruiting & developing players. But we’re all entitled to our own opinions.

Most people don’t like him because of the fact that he was said to have been bad-mouthing Oregon State on the recruiting trail after going to Oregon.

When Campbell was at OSU he recruited players selling himself, not the program. So when he went to UO they went with him. Not ok. When he went to SS he recruited away Graves coaches so Graves had to grab whoever he could to fill in his staff. He brought in a bunch of transfers to SS so that they could win in two years, but he made no attempt to build any long term success there. Do you think the AD would have hired him there if he knew that Campbell would leave after two years and that there would be nothing left for the next year? Then he goes to TCU and pulls Prince away from UO and pulls more folks for his staff at UO's expense. I think if you asked Graves, Rueck or the folks at SS about Campbell it would not be a resounding endorsement. Maybe you think being cutthroat is the way to be, I don't.

Prince was done at Oregon. She left the team, I thought it was to concentrate on getting ready for the draft...but then she wasn't in the draft? That was for '23. Then I thought she retired from hoops, and Campbell talked her into returning? I don't know, she's had a crazy, tumultuous journey, but I really don't think he poached her from UO.

Funny, I used to (actively) resent Mark Campbell a lot more in the past....
But then this Elite 8 Run (by that I don't mean the OSU Beavers advancing to the NCAA Final 8 tournament bracket, but the recent departure of 8 of our [mostly] elite players from the WBB team :-) has reminded me a lot of things in the world that get dressed up in noble qualities are, at the end of the day, a business. So, in light of recent developments, kudos to Mark Campbell for leveraging his position at OSU into a position at uo, into a position at SacSt, into a position at TCU, and making whatever legal "business" decisions he had to along the way to succeed. And if he can convince/influence/coach/recruit/pay Dono into making a business decision to join the team, good for the both of them. I'm starting to like the reduced level of passion I can devote to ex-OSU WBB folks. Funny - I actively seek out video highlights/stats of folks like Cooks, Adley and GPII and Syd/Mik/Kat on the internet, but have never felt the need to do so for Goforth/Greta/Brown - so this will all matter even less once the Fall sports start up. I can't wait. (and time for me to pour more energy into the remainder of the baseball season!)
Go (remaining) Beavers!

So all of this wild and wacky stuff happened and then she somehow ended up at TCU with Campbell? Nothing to see here? Interesting take.
