These players are taking advantage of the opportunity that presented due to the success of the team. Outside of Beers and Gardiner, they aren’t quite as good as they think they are (or people are telling them they are) and outside of the system that maximized their strengths their chances of similar success will be much less. It’s unfortunate, because they had a really good thing going. Had the team finished in the middle of the pack and made an early exit from the tourney, most would likely still be on the roster.
In my opinion, there are too many outside influences.

Best case 2024-25 scenario: Beavs have Kennedie, Dom and Kelsie to build off of. Still could be competitive in WCC. Anything less than those three....not fun. AJ may stay as well. She was always pretty good against mid major competition but faded in Pac-12 play, but I hope we can keep her. I fully apologize for overlooking AJ. If she stays, she IS the Team Leader

On a positive note—- if Beers hasn’t said anything yet and she stays, I’ll wear my Beavs Beers and Buckets shirt to every game next year!!!

Drag. Bummer. Downer. Why? All I have are negative emotions/thoughts rearding WBB, right now. WHAT in HELL happened? It CAN'T ALL be the WCC. NO way YES....way. 2024: PAC #1 Conference (RPI)......WCC #11 2023: PAC #1.....WCC #9 2022: PAC # 3.....WCC #9 These players were recruited with the understanding that they would be playing in the top echelons of women's college basketball.

So the big fish in our little pond want to test their game in the big pond? Ok sounds good but unless they go together the chance of them having the same or more success is slim. Their play complimented each other. That may be hard to find when teamed up with bigger fish that are used to a style of play and a system. Oh well, it's all water under the bridge at this point. I hope they find what they are looking for.

From an Elite 8 team to Top 5 team next season and favored for Final Four (per Dawn Staley) and challenge for a Natty, all blown up for social media "likes" and NIL, the WCC had nothing to do with it, outside of Timea and Beers all other transfers have futures careers that will resemble Savannah Samuel and Greta Kampschroeder, that's the hard reality that these young women face and are to immature to understand, I have full faith in Rueck to rebuild the team and I will cheer from the rafters for those who remained loyal to this great institution we call OSU, GO BEAVS.

I'm sure it is A factor. Not convinced it is the only, much less LEADING factor. I suppose we'll find out.

I hope they find what they are looking for. There are about 1,100 women basketball players in the portal. Some of them will find an improved situation, either competition level, starting/playing time opportunity, NIL, coach relationship, etc..... But there simply aren't enough ideal landing spots to go around. There are D-1 players each year that enter the portal and find themselves without a D-1 team the following year (Martha Pietsch??). There are a few portal entrants that actually return to their 2023-2024 teams. It's a wild world.

To be honest, with everyone else leaving I'd have told Beers to leave. With noone to feed her the ball and no real help rebounding it would have been miserable for her next season. She's better off finding a good team where she has a chance at winning a Championship.

Lol. So if they stayed, they were going to the final 4, but leaving will all give them s%#tty careers? C’mon. This team, if they stuck together, may have been able to equal what they did this year. But, they would not have been close to challenging for a “natty”……..god I hate that term. There still would have been a talent gap between our team and the “natty” winners.
