Cap casualty.
The Bills were in the second worst cap situation going into the off-season behind only the overly-aggressive-cap-manipulating Saints (the Saints are one of 8 teams currently over the 2024 cap, and the ONLY team already over the projected 2025 cap, by $51 million).
Josh Allen will cost $47 million against the $255 million 2024 salary cap.
Allen currently has the 7th highest cap hit of NFL QBs.

I’m guessing either him or his agent’s phone is ringing off the hook. Dude still plays at a high level

Wonder if the Seahawks are interested. They cut both of their starting safeties. Poyer would be a big improvement over Jamal Adams.

Dude still plays at a high level Eh, he is 11 years in the league, about to be 33 years old and carries a laundry list of physical aliments at this point. He did play all but one last season and had a rock solid year. He was generally ready to hand it up until Bills offered him again late. I wouldn't be surprised if he called it a career here.

Derek Anderson 13 4. Darrick Brilz 12 4. Johnny Hekker 12 4. Steven Jackson 12 4. Vic Sears 12 8. Jordan Poyer 11 (tie)
Johnny Hekker moves into a tie for third next year.
Sam Baker played until he was 39, finishing as the NFL's second all-time leading scorer at the time.
Darrell Green played DB until he was 42. Poyer was a Pro Bowler last year and was All-Pro the year before. I will be hopelessly optimistic and say that Poyer still has another solid 6-7 years before he thinks about retiring.

Also holds the distinction of having one of those heavy baking trays slammed over his head in the kitchen of our Fraternity! It was in our trophy case, bend and all! Ha ha
