I have not been following this board recently, so maybe my question has been discussed elsewhere.
I'm trying to figure out how many players we have returning for the 2024 season who saw meaningful playing time in 2023. There has been so much written about the incoming players and the outgoing players that I've kinda lost track of the meaningful contributors who are returning. Thanks..... GO BEAVS!!

Still in flux but the answer is not many. RB are most complete, OL has Gray, Strand, Starck, and Morano. Wideouts is brand new. TE is mostly new with Terry being most experienced in system. QB is BG OLB Taylor ILB Chisom and Jordan DL Saluni and Hickle DB Robinson, Julian, Kane, Thomas, and Swen...bit of Mack

nuclear beaver - - thanks for the info...Appreciate it....
Just wondering: Has a modern day college program ever started a new season with this few returning players? (Other than Colorado after their Prime mandated exodus). GO BEAVS!!

Was looking at our WR group. In terms of passes caught last year - Valsin 11 (though I believe he's out for the year) Martinez 11 Noga 8 Terry 6 Card 5 East 1 Oof.

In this new age of the transfer portal, I suspect there are dozens of teams around the nation with fewer this year alone.

Valsin is healthy as far as I know Martinez not a WR Terry not a WR Missed Trent Walker, David Wells

Re: Valsin, saw a tweet last month that he was injured. Don't know if legit or not (and obviously happy to be wrong). Guess we'll find out really soon.

It’s always nice to see a group with a lot of experience and production returning, but I wonder if it means as much in 2024 as in the past? We have the stud from Michigan and Jordan Anderson coming into the fold. Big time talents (Durant is electric as well). With the weird pass offense that we ran, even guys like Bolden and Gould had limited targets. They had all the stats for our wideouts, but they were, IMO, totally underused. Coupled with guys like Card and Wells and hopefully Valsin and Noga, there are some talented kids who are going to get a chance to launch. Nobody becomes a star based on their potential on paper, but I’m excited to watch something new, with quick and athletic QBs that will require the attention of an extra defender on every snap, and some creative twists to the offense under Gundy’s leadership. I wouldn’t be surprised to see several of our unknowns turn out to be very explosive and exciting. I’m super glad that most of these faces are on campus and participating in spring ball.

My feel is it matters more on defense than offense this year. Defense is staying pretty much the same so scheme understanding is a big deal. Offense is rebooting so scheme understanding is low for everyone.

The QB-WR chemistry most likely will take a little bit of time to develop but I really like the WR group on paper. The good part about this is that the RB group is loaded and even with some losses of some really good offensive linemen, I have a feeling that this new group will be able to get a decent push in the run game (getting Gray back is huge and I'm really excited to see what Wells can do). I think the defense could be really good. Lots of new faces but you've got to love what they've done through the portal, etc. Hard to think they aren't going to hit on several guys and I thought the ILBs were the stars of the bowl game. Honestly, I think the interior DL has been upgraded and they are pretty deep at OLB. I think the secondary is pretty stable with guys like Jaden Robinson, Alton Julian, Noble Thomas, Ivy and Kane back. You can definitely build on that foundation.
