Yeah it was a pretty quick transformation. I feel like he looked more like the old Jimmy even in the last couple years... Side note..were we close to getting Damon Stoudamire? I had not known that. And yeah the Earnest Killum tragedy cast a dark cloud over the program it seemed. They were on a road trip to the LA schools when it occurred in a hotel room if my memory serves me right. We played USC at the Sports Arena on Thursday night. On Friday morning at the hotel, EK went out to the hot tub. Some people were with him for a while, then left, and then EK collapsed and someone found him unconscious. We lost in OT at UCLA on Saturday, I think. Earnest's parents were divorced. His father, who starred at Stetson, did not want to sue. His mother did, and eventually received some kind of settlement, even though Earnest had signed some kind of waiver. |

Mike Sandago, the team's assistant trainer found him. UCLA won 87-81 in overtime. Oregon State played the 46th-hardest strength of schedule, so the Beavs may have been Tourney-bound with 2-3 more wins. But Oregon State lost at Pauley in overtime and later lost in Pullman to cement the first of what would become 13 consecutive years with a losing record. |

OSU paid his mother $400,000 to settle the case. EK would have never wanted his Mom to sue. He wanted to play no matter what. |
