He has value, but nobody wants that contract, including the Broncos who gave it to him. He'll sign with someone else for a lot less and collect his $85 million from the Broncos.

The final trade tally - Broncos give up:
9th, 40th, 145th picks in 2022 5th and 37th picks in 2023 3 players traded to Seahawks - Lock, Fant, Harris. Paid Wilson $124M.
He went 11-19.
That's going down as a bad one. #analysis.

Not collusion, but a giant 31 team eff you to the Broncos and Payton To Russ he'll sign for a vet minimum and still collect mid 8 figures. He's set, and his new team has a starter and saves personnel and cap $ for their roster. Not a huge fan of his, but he's an upgrade for several teams. He'd look weird in let's say, a Steelers uni. But, he's better than all three of their current QBs combined. Just 3-4+ points per game better than their lowly 17.8 per/28th ranked offense (barely 300 yds per) and they become a factor in the AFC.

It's just CRIMINAL (to me), THAT amount of money, going to one player who FAILED (I know; NOT the first OR last) . It could do a lot of good, ELSEWHERE. The older I get.....

He was QB for Wisconsin back in 2011 when they curb-stomped the Beavs 35-0 in Madison. A game that featured a backward (unblocked) punt from Johnny Hekker. That game gave me a lasting bad impression of Russell Wilson.

Yep... crazy, sad, embarrassing, etc! All those billions in pro sports salaries and extras with all the issues in our society that "could" benefit...
Then I pause and think, "Would it?"
Who exactly would I entrust that kind of extra money to do good for society? Certainly nothing to do with government run entities or the folks in charge of them!

Did he really fail though? Wilson threw for 3,070 yards with 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His 6.9 average was a little on the low side but he also threw quite a bit less than most of the QBs that had more yards. He wasn't terrible. I think the situation really boils down to Wilson not being Payton's guy from the get-go and the Broncos are Payton's team now. Add Wilson's tendency in recent years to seem somewhat disconnected and more interested in off the field life, maybe lacking some of the passion he once had, etc., and you get an early exit despite all the wasted money.

Entrust it with me. 😁 Have we become so cynical that $85,000,000.00 would necessarily be WASTED today? I share the same cynicism, but if there is NO entity to trust (non-governmental)……we are truly f%#*ed.

So is this the deal that finally unseats Hershel Walker to the Vikings as the worst ever? I think so. But the Cowheads did parlay it into a couple of Super Bowls so it was great for them!

That's going down as a bad one. #analysis. The Seahawks received: Noah Fant, Shelby Harris, and Drew Lock. In the 2022 draft, the Seahawks selected: 9th Charles Cross 40th Boye Mafe
The Seahawks traded the 145th pick for the 158th and 233rd picks.
158th Tyreke Smith 233rd Dareke Young
Harris played the 2022 season but was cut in the offseason, signed by the Browns. Smith was injured all of 2022. The Cardinals signed Smith off of the Seahawks' practice squad in 2023.
In the 2022 draft, the Seahawks selected:
5th Devon Witherspoon 37th Derick Hall
The Seahawks traded Wilson for a starting tight end, a backup quarterback, a starting left tackle, a starting Will Linebacker, a sixth Receiver, a Pro Bowl corner, and a backup Will Linebacker.
And they did not have to spend $85 million.
All-in-all, a great trade.
